Abstract: The present invention relates to a recombinant plasmid, methods and compositions for the expression of recombinant proteins with minimal N-terminal initiator methionine. The present invention also provides strategies for efficient removal of N-terminal initiator methionine in recombinant proteins expressed at industrial scale and provides method for producing proteins with minimal N-terminal initiator methionine.
