A Non Invasive Method For Precise Autonomous Vertebral Registration And A System Thereof

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a non-invasive method (800) and a system (200) for precisely determining vertebral locations in a patient (102). The method (800) includes analyzing a plurality of medical imaging data (300,400), each including images of the spine and a plurality of masks (104) positioned on skin (106). The method (800) includes determining a set of first coordinates, indicative of vertebral locations within a coordinate system. A two-dimensional (2D) side image is then processed using a preset position indicator (602) to determine a set of second coordinates of each of the plurality of masks and the vertebra (302). By comparing the set of second coordinates with the set of first coordinates, the system (200) and method (800) accurately determines the set of second coordinates on the skin (106) corresponding to each vertebra (302).
