Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to the field of microfibre filters. The present invention, particularly relates to a microfibre filter made from naturally derived and biodegradable sustainable materials with high flow rate that can last long and can be safely disposed of without any adverse effects on environment.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Laundry activities release microfibres into water bodies posing grave environmental and health challenges for mankind. Industries and entrepreneurs have recently developed filters that prevent or minimize microfibres from leaving the source and thus, minimizing water bodies’ contamination. Some of the existing arts in this field are as follows:
WO2024123769A1 discloses a high flow rate microfiber filtration setup made from biodegradable material. The filtration setup also comprises of a filter media that forms the mechanism for microfiber filtration. The flow path for water varies across the filter to achieve high efficiency. 1. A microfibre filter (10), comprising:
an outercasing (1); and
a cartridge (2),
wherein the outercasing (1) comprises a hollow cylindrical body (3) and an inlet (4) for inflow of water, wherein the outercasing hollow cylindrical body (3) is adapted to hold the cartridge (2),
wherein the cartridge (2) comprises a hollow cylindrical body (8) comprising a plurality of open spaces (A, B, C, D), a plurality of protrusions (5) along the surface of the hollow cylindrical body (8) and an outlet (9) for outflow of water.
2. The microfibre filter (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the outercasing (1) and the cartridge (2) have an annular space between them.
3. The microfibre filter (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of protrusions (5) are placed linearly or spirally along the surface of the cartridge (2) hollow cylindrical body (8) to create a tortuous path for flow of water.
