Abstract: ABSTRACT A DEOXIDISER BLOCK AND A METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF The present disclosure relates to a deoxidizer block for steel making process and a method for preparing the deoxidizer block using industrial waste. The deoxidizer block of the present disclosure is molded in compact ingots, notch bars and shots/briquettes of high-density (>2.5 g/cc) green Fe-Al ingots, notch bars, or briquette shots by using scraps from industrial waste. The deoxidizer block prepared by the cost-effective process of the present disclosure ensures that the produced deoxidizers reach the steel-slag interface during secondary steelmaking, thereby improving oxygen reduction efficiency and minimizing alloy losses. The present disclosure also ensures environmental sustainability by recycling aluminium and iron waste, reducing energy consumption, and eliminating the need for primary aluminium ingots or ferro aluminium.

Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present disclosure generally relates to the field of metallurgy. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a deoxidizer block of high density and a method for producing the same. The deoxidizer block is preferably molded in the shape of ingots, notch bars, or briquette shots that are used in secondary steelmaking processes such as tapping or LF additions for deoxidation of steel.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] During steel production, molten iron from a blast furnace typically contains high concentrations of carbon and silicon. To refine this hot metal, it is transferred to a basic oxygen furnace (BOF) or converter where oxygen is blown to reduce carbon and silicon content and adjust phosphorous. This process results in a significant increase in dissolved oxygen (O₂) ppm levels in the molten steel.
[003] The next process of steel production is to reduce sulphur and adjust chemistry (like Mn, Si, C) for which the oxygen ppm is to be removed and in flat steel, alu , Claims:WE CLAIM:
1. A deoxidizer block for metallurgical deoxidation, the deoxidizer block comprising:
- a first metal component in an amount of 30 to 98% of the total weight of the deoxidizer block;
- a second metal component in an amount of 1 to 70% of the total weight of the deoxidizer block;
- a third component in an amount of 0 to 30% of the total weight the deoxidizer block; and
- an additive in an amount of 0 to 5% of the total weight the deoxidizer block,
wherein the first metal component is a deoxidizer, and wherein the second metal component is a densifier, and wherein the third component is a diffusing agent, and wherein the deoxidizer block has a density in a range of 2.5g/cc to 4.5g/cc.

2. The deoxidizer block as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first metal component and the second metal component are present in a weight ratio of 3:1.
