Abstract: ABSTRACT MONOLITHIC SINGLE LASER BEAM MAGNETO-OPTICAL TRAP BASED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING, TRAPPING COLD ATOMS The present invention discloses a monolithic single laser beam magneto-optical trap (MOT) based system and method (400) for generating and trapping cold atoms. Initially, a monolithic single light beam (204) is generated from narrow linewidth light source (202). The monolithic single light beam (204) is directed with circular polarization through vacuum chamber (210), using first quarter-wave plate (206). The circularly polarized monolithic single light beam (208) is reflected using a first mirror 216. The circularly polarized monolithic single light beam (208) is reflected to traverse along three axes of vacuum chamber (210) through the second mirror (212), third mirror (218), and fourth mirror (214). MOT system is a foundational component in many advanced technology and experiments related to optimized accuracy atomic clocks, quantum gravimeters, cold atom-based gyroscopes and accelerometers used in inertial navigation systems, magnetic field sensors, and quantum computing.

directing (404) the monolithic single light beam (204) with circular polarization through a vacuum chamber (210), using a first quarter-wave plate (206), wherein the monolithic single light beam (204) is oriented at a pre-determined angle to first axis within a first plane;
