Antechamber Based Wire Spool Exchange System For Directed Energy Deposition (Ded) Machine

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless feeder exchange system for Directed Energy Deposition (DED) machines. The system includes a main chamber purged with argon gas to create an inert atmosphere, equipped with a wire straightener for spooling wire into the chamber. An antechamber is connected to the main chamber to facilitate the handling and feeding of wire materials during the 3D printing process. The antechamber (4) includes a sliding platform (20) fixed to its base, on which a wire spool (18) is mounted to feed wire into the main chamber. An internal door (21) at one end of the antechamber allows for the sliding platform (20) and wire spool (18) to be moved in and out of the main chamber, while an external door (22) at the opposite end enables an operator to perform the same action from outside the main chamber.
