Drive Unit For Vehicle And Straddle Type Electric Vehicle

Abstract: Provided is a drive unit for a vehicle capable of cooling oil that flows through an oil passage to suppress oil film breakage, abrasion, or the like of a sliding portion of a bearing. A drive unit 10 for a vehicle includes a motor housing 20, a motor 30, a bearing 24, a gear 35, a gear housing 40 connected to the motor housing 20 and having a bottom portion in which an oil reservoir 45 in which oil is stored is formed, a reduction mechanism housed in the gear housing 40 and configured to reduce a speed of rotation of the gear 35 and transmit the speed-reduced rotation to an output shaft 52, and an oil passage formed in the motor housing 20 so as to guide the oil stored in the oil reservoir 45 to the bearing 24, in which the motor housing 20 is provided with an outside air passage through which outside air of an outside of the motor housing flows.
