Abstract: The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material for lithium-ion batteries, wherein the positive electrode active material comprises secondary particles comprising primary particles, wherein the primary particles have an average primary particle size (S1) as determined by SEM image analysis, wherein the positive electrode active material has an average crystallite size (S2) as determined by X-Ray Diffraction measurement, wherein S1/S2 is at least 13, and wherein the positive electrode active material has been treated with an aqueous solution.
