Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a compound or salt thereof that constitutes a lipid composition able to achieve high nucleic acid encapsulation and excellent nucleic acid delivery, and of providing a lipid composition, a pharmaceutical composition, and a delivery carrier using said compound or salt thereof. The present invention provides a compound represented by formula (1), or a salt thereof. In the formula: R1, R2, R3, and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group that has 1-24 carbon atoms and may be substituted; R5 and R6 each independently represent a hydrocarbon group that has 1-18 carbon atoms and may be substituted; R7, R8, and R9 each independently represent a hydrocarbon group that has 2-8 carbon atoms; and R5 and R6 or R5 and R7 may combine to form a 4-7 membered ring.
