Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for preparing herbal formulation for treatment of skin burn. The formulation is prepared using Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves and desi ghee. Fresh plant materials were collected, washed with running tap water, shade dried, and powdered. 250 g of desi ghee was boiled in an aluminum pot on low flame, after which 25 g of leaf powder was added and boiled for 20 to 25 minutes. The mixture was filtered through wetted cotton cloth and cooled in a freezer for 30 minutes. The prepared formulation was applied on burn skin with cotton, exposed for 24 hours without bandage. The formulation provided pain relief within 3 to 4 hours depending on severity of burn, promoted healing of burned skin similar to parental skin, prevented black and white patches, supported hair regeneration, and showed no side effects during the invention.

skin burn.

15 effective treatment of burn injuries and chronic wounds. The herbal formulation
comprises an extract of Paris and Sanguisorba prepared by infusing Paris and
Sanguisorba in a liquid medium having a boiling point of no more than 160° C.
IN202541005358 the invention relates to an indian herbal composition-based
20 regenerative therapy for fire burns, comprising centella asiatica extract (40% by
weight), aloe barbadensis extract (30% by weight), and curcuma longa extract (20%
by weight) as active ingredients; potato starch (3% by weight), lecithin (3% by
weight), and rosemary extract (3% by weight) as organic excipients; and benzyl
alcohol (1% by weight) as a pharmaceutically acceptable inert excipient. the
25 composition is pharmaceutically formulated as a gel, which is applied onto sterilized
banana leaves for direct use in treating fire burn wounds. this gel demonstrates potent
antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-regenerative properties.
Sterilized banana leaves, processed under autoclave conditions (121°C, 15–20 psi,
15–30 minutes), provide a contamination-free, moist environment that enhances

IN202511009609 discloses novel herbal composition for treating burns and
wounds, addressing the need for accelerated healing. The composition comprises
synergistic blend of essential oils, plant extracts including Rheum species, and
pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, formulated as gelatinous or viscous substance.

peppermint, and lemon grass oil. plant extracts can further include curcuma longa,
centella asiatica, and symphytum officinale. the formulation incorporates zinc as an
active ingredient, and the carrier may consist of vaseline and petroleum jelly. the
composition is moisture permeable and allows oxygen diffusion to promote healing. a

OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a method for
preparing herbal formulation for treatment of skin burn.

Another objective of the invention is to provide herbal formulation prepared
from Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves for curing skin burns due to fire, hot
water, and other types.
25 Yet another objective of the invention is to develop a method of preparation
comprising collection, washing, shade drying, powdering of leaves, boiling with desi
ghee, filtering, cooling, and application on burn skin without bandage.
Further objective of the invention is to achieve relief from burning pain within
30 3 to 4 hours, promote healing of burned skin similar to parental skin, prevent black
and white patches, support hair regeneration, and ensure no side effects.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly the following invention provides a method for preparing herbal
formulation for treatment of skin burn. the herbal formulation is prepared by using
5 Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves and Ghee (Desi ghee prepared at home).
Fresh plant materials were collected, washed with running tap water, shade dried and
finally fine powder prepared. 250gm of desi ghee boil in aluminum pot on low flame,
after boiling 25 gms of Rhynchocia rufescens leaf powder were added to it and kept
for boiling for 20-25 minutes. After boiling it was filtered through wetted cotton cloth
10 and kept in freeze for 30 minutes. The prepared formulation applied on burn skin with
the help of cotton, burn skin exposed for 24 hours without any bandage.
The herbal formulation gives relief from burning pain within 3-4 hours
depending upon severity of burn. It also helps to healing burned skin as like to
15 parental skin. This formulation helps to prevents black and white patches due to skin
burn. support hair regeneration on burn skin.

Different methods used during the standardization of formulation:
20 Method 1:
a. Dried Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves was mixed with fresh
Curcuma longa L. rhizomes.
b. Fine paste was prepared with the help of grinder mixture or mortar and pestle
c. This fine paste was applied externally on the burned skin.
25 d. After 3-4 days it was observed that, these formulation doses not minimize the
burning pain and does not give the satisfactory results.
Method 2:
a. Dried Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves was mixed with fresh Aloe
30 vera pulp.
b. Fine paste was prepared with the help of grinder mixture or mortar and pestle
c. This fine paste was applied externally on the burned skin.

d. After 5-7 days it was observed that oozing of puss in burn skin was found to
be slow down but doses not minimize the burning pain.
e. This formulation doses not minimize the burning pain and does not gives the
satisfactory results.

Method 3:
a. Dried Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves was mixed with coconut oil
kept for overnight.
b. Filtered through the cotton cloth.
10 c. This oil was applied externally on the burned skin.
d. After 4-5 days it was observed that, Oozing of puss in burn skin was found to
be slow down.
e. This formulation doses not minimize the burning pain and not gives the
satisfactory results.

Method 4:
a. Dried Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves were mixed with Phyllanthus
emblica leaf (amla).
b. Fine paste was prepared with the help of grinder mixture or mortar and pestle.
20 c. This fine paste was applied externally on the burned skin
d. After 15-20 days it was observed that, this formulation doses not minimize the
burning pain
e. It does not show any improvement in burn skin and not gives the satisfactory
results.

Method 5:
a. Dried Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC leaves was mixed with ghee (desi
ghee), boiled on low flame on gas for 20-25 min.
b. Filtered through wet cotton cloth and cooled
30 c. This formulation was applied on burn skin
d. It was observed that, after 3-4 hours it gives relief from pain in burn skin

e. After 3-4 days, it was observed that ozzing of watery fluid from burn skin was
reduced
f. After 4-6 it was observed that, skin get started to dry.
g. After 15 days it was observed that, upper skin layer of burn skin was removed
5 and inflammation was also found to reduce.
h. After 3 weeks it was observed that, burn skin healing started properly.
i. The hair reappearance on burn skin also recorded after 3 weeks.
j. This formulation does not show any side effect on burn skin during the study
period

It was observed that, Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC dried leaves were
when mixed with Curcuma longa L. rhizomes, Aloe vera pulp, coconut oil and
Phyllanthus emblica leaf separately by using different methods, does not showed
promising results. But when formulate with deshi ghee as shown in method 5 it gives
15 the prominent results, hence this formulation was selected for the further research
work.
Final steps for preparation of rhynchocia rufescens leaf-based herbal formulation (as
shown in method 5) are as follows:
20 a) collecting fresh leaves of Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC.
b) washing the said leaves thoroughly with running tap water to remove dust,
dirt, and other impurities.
c) shade drying the said washed leaves until moisture is removed and the leaves
are suitable for powder preparation.
25 d) preparing fine powder of the dried leaves by grinding, thereby obtaining
uniform powdered plant material.
e) boiling 250 g of desi ghee in an aluminum pot on low flame until the ghee
reaches a boiling state.
f) adding 25 g of said leaf powder into the boiling desi ghee.
30 g) continuing boiling the mixture of desi ghee and leaf powder for a period of 20
to 25 minutes on low flame to allow extraction of active constituents.

h) filtering the boiled mixture through wetted cotton cloth to remove coarse
particles and obtain a clear filtrate.
i) cooling the said filtrate in a freezer for 30 minutes to obtain the herbal
formulation.

The use of this formulation to treat skin burn due to fire, hot water and other
types, for hair regeneration on burn skin and for hair regeneration on any other part of
body specially head.

equivalents will be apparent to those skilled in the art, without departing from the

1. A method for preparing herbal formulation for treatment of skin burn,
consisting steps of;
5 a) collecting fresh leaves of Rhynchocia rufescens (Willd.) DC;
b) washing the said leaves thoroughly with running tap water to remove
dust, dirt, and other impurities;
c) shade drying the said washed leaves until moisture is removed and the
leaves are suitable for powder preparation;
10 d) preparing fine powder of the dried leaves by grinding, thereby
obtaining uniform powdered plant material;
e) boiling 250 g of desi ghee in an aluminum pot on low flame until the
ghee reaches a boiling state;
f) adding 25 g of said leaf powder into the boiling desi ghee;
15 g) continuing boiling the mixture of desi ghee and leaf powder for a
period of 20 to 25 minutes on low flame to allow extraction of active
constituents;
h) filtering the boiled mixture through wetted cotton cloth to remove
coarse particles and obtain a clear filtrate; and
20 i) cooling the said filtrate in a freezer for 30 minutes to obtain the herbal
formulation;
wherein the said herbal formulation is applied externally on burn skin
with cotton, without bandage, and exposed for 24 hours to provide relief from
25 burning pain within 3 to 4 hours, promote healing of burned skin similar to
parental skin, prevent black and white patches, support hair regeneration, and
show no side effects.
2. The method for preparing herbal formulation for treatment of skin burn as
30 claimed in claim 1, wherein said formulation provides relief from pain within
3 to 4 hours, reduces oozing of watery fluid within 3 to 4 days, initiates drying
of skin within 4 to 6 days, reduces inflammation within 15 days, promotes

healing within 3 weeks, supports hair reappearance on burned skin, and shows
no side effects.
