Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices and methods of communication. In one aspect, upon reception of a MAC CE indicating a cell switch from a first cell to a second cell, a terminal device may determine whether the first cell is a candidate cell allowing LTM. If the first cell is not a candidate cell allowing LTM, the terminal device may determine that a layer 2 reset procedure is to be performed or not performed by determining a first identity value as an identity value of a serving cell and comparing the first identity value and a second identity value for the second cell. In this way, a terminal device may determine whether to perform L2 reset during LTM cell switch if a serving cell or a source cell is not LTM candidate cell.
