, Description:TITLE OF THE INVENTION: A BIODEGRADABLE YOGA MAT WITH GOOD GRIP PROPERTIES
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Generally, the present disclosure relates yoga mats. Particularly, it relates to a biodegradable yoga mat with good grip properties.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In recent years, the practice of performing yoga has gained increased popularity across the globe, so much so that an International Day of Yoga is being celebrated annually on June 21 since 2015. Yoga can be performed either indoors or outdoors. Yoga mats are generally used for performing yoga.
Although it is possible to perform yoga without a mat, the use of a mat can provide a more stable base for postures such as downward dog or warrior poses, which require the practitioner to apply pressure through the feet and/or hands on the ground in opposing directions.
Modern yoga mats are constructed of materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), PER (Polymer Environmental Resin), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), or various forms of natural or synthetic rubber.
However, mats made of these materials are not suitable for outdoor use. When such a mat is placed on an uneven surface such as deep grass or sand, the mat conforms to the weight of the practitioner and sinks into the surface. With each movement of the body, the mat can move, thus preventing the practitioner from smoothly and easily transitioning between poses, inhibiting the practice. It also inhibits proper alignment in a posture by restricting the ability to adjust the points of contact within a pose. Furthermore, with the mat conformed around the contact surface of the body, this greatly increases the instability when performing balancing postures. Last, but not least, such mats are not durable and are easily subjected to wear and tear.
There is therefore a need in the art for a biodegradable yoga mat that is durable.
There is therefore a need in the art for a biodegradable yoga mat that is rigid and stable, thereby making it suitable for outdoor use.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A biodegradable yoga mat with good grip properties is disclosed. The yoga mat comprises 90.79% by weight of granular cork and 8.37% by weight of natural rubber resin. The yoga mat further comprises oil and one or more binders.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

A biodegradable yoga mat with good grip properties is disclosed. The yoga mat comprises 90.79% by weight of granular cork and 8.37% by weight of natural rubber resin, and is cured at 110 degrees Celsius. The yoga mat further comprises oil and one or more binders, such as natural rubber processing oil and spindle oil.
In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the yoga mat has a thickness of 3 mm.
In yet another embodiment of the present disclosure, the colour of the yoga mat is muddy.
In yet another embodiment of the present disclosure, the natural rubber resin is of 1x grade.
In yet another embodiment of the present disclosure, the yoga mat further comprises a colouring substrate, such as colour pigments and/or food grade colouring agents, to improve its aesthetics and make it visually appealing.

"The mat is very good. It has an excellent grip. It definitely stands out.”
''It is firm and grounded. It is odour free which is one of my biggest irritations with other mats. It strangely doesn't seem to smell post sweating on the mat. And it’s easy to wipe down and clean.’'
“Amazing grip. Perfect feel. Good quality. Earthy colour. Eco-friendly.”
“I feel grounded, safe, and in-control on the mat. It is wonderful and highly recommended!”
“The Yoga mat is vegan, biodegradable, smell free, long enough for tall people and has grip so my wrists are finally protected.”
“The grip is great no matter how much you sweat. I absolutely love the look and feel of it. My favourite part about the mat is that it's biodegradable!”
“From the preliminary sight which strikes a serene chord with its fragrant mud-mess colour to the hard textural feel. It’s surreal how close the product stands for the philosophy of YOGA and the modern challenges pertaining to the same.”
It will be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the above description is for illustrative purposes only and should not be considered as limiting.
