FIELD OF INVENTION
[001] The present disclosure broadly relates to field of personal hygiene and particularly relates to a solid cleansing composition.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
[002] Personal cleansing formulation especially hair cleansing formats available in the art and in market are primarily liquid formulations. Spillage, lack of metered dosing and transit of packaged liquid containers is a challenge felt industry wide. The liquid formulations tend to increase wastage in terms of the usage by the customers. Also, the liquid formulations tend to be less stable as compared to the solid counterparts. Further, the liquid formulations are associated with intricate packaging strategies that are expensive that increase the overall cost associated with their manufacturing.
[003] Such reasons give rise to rampant usage and availability of solid soaps and detergents in market. Yet solid formats lack in providing the desired sensory on application to human skin or hair. Hence there is an industry wide need felt for single use formulations that are solid, spill-proof, have dispensing and dosing ease, are easy to transport, stack and provide essentially similar or superior product sensorials as compared to a liquid formulation. Product aesthetics distinctively different from powder format (detergent format) are added desirables. Furthermore, it is a requirement that the product format is aesthetically pleasing and tidy in dispensing.
[004] US6106849A discloses a personal care product designed to replace conventional single use products such as small bars of soap, mini-bottles of shampoo, etc. A water soluble foamed polymer structure, such as produced by freeze drying acemannan derived from aloe vera, serves as the carrier for the personal care active ingredient, and provides the bulk to the structure. [005] US8470305B2 discloses a cleansing composition in form of a shampoo, said composition comprising: a) detersive surfactants; b) a dispersed solid crystalline gel network phase; and c) at least about 20% of an aqueous carrier, by

weight of said shampoo composition. The dispersed solid crystalline gel network phase comprises a first component and a second component, wherein the first component comprises at least about 0.05% of one or more fatty acids by weight of said shampoo composition, and the second component comprises at least about
' 0.05% of one or more additional fatty amphiphiles by weight of said shampoo composition. The first component is combined with said second component in the ratio of 10:1 to about 1:5 to form said solid crystalline gel network phase. [006] There is a dire need to focus on the cleansing composition which has higher content of water and at the same time can be dispensed in form of solid form. Such
i compositions will give desired sensorial and at the same time will avoid wastage of the composition.

' water, wherein water has a weight percentage in the range of 60% to 78% with respect to the composition.
[008] In an aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a process for preparing the composition comprising: (i) at least two gums; (ii) at least one surfactant; and (iii) water, wherein water has a weight percentage in the range of
I 60%) to 78%) with respect to the composition, said process comprising: (a) obtaining at least two gums; (b) obtaining at least one surfactant; (c) obtaining water; and (d) contacting the at least two gums, the at least one surfactant and water to obtain the composition. [009] These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present subject
' matter will be better understood with reference to the following description and appended claims. This summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts in a simplified form. This summary is not intended to identify key features or essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to be used to limit the scope of the claimed subject matter.
I BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS

[0010] The following drawings form a part of the present specification and are included to further illustrate aspects of the present disclosure. The disclosure may be better understood by reference to the drawings in combination with the detailed description of the specific embodiments presented herein.

variations and modifications other than those specifically described. It is to be
understood that the present disclosure includes all such variations and
modifications. The disclosure also includes all such steps, features, compositions,
and compounds referred to or indicated in this specification, individually or
collectively, and any and all combinations of any or more of such steps or features.
Definitions
[0013] For convenience, before further description of the present disclosure,
certain terms employed in the specification, and examples are delineated here.
These definitions should be read in the light of the remainder of the disclosure and
understood as by a person of skill in the art. The terms used herein have the
meanings recognized and known to those of skill in the art, however, for
convenience and completeness, particular terms and their meanings are set forth
below.
[0014] The articles "a", "an" and "the" are used to refer to one or to more than one
(i.e., to at least one) of the grammatical object of the article.
[0015] The terms "comprise" and "comprising" are used in the inclusive, open
sense, meaning that additional elements may be included. It is not intended to be
construed as "consists of only".
[0016] Throughout this specification, unless the context requires otherwise the
word "comprise", and variations such as "comprises" and "comprising", will be
understood to imply the inclusion of a stated element or step or group of element or

steps but not the exclusion of any other element or step or group of element or steps.
[0017] The term "including" is used to mean "including but not limited to". "Including" and "including but not limited to" are used interchangeably. [0018] Ratios, concentrations, amounts, and other numerical data may be presented herein in a range format. It is to be understood that such range format is used merely for convenience and brevity and should be interpreted flexibly to include not only the numerical values explicitly recited as the limits of the range, but also to include all the individual numerical values or sub-ranges encompassed within that range as if each numerical value and sub-range is explicitly recited. For example, a weight ratio of about 1:150 to about 1:1.33 should be interpreted to include not only the explicitly recited limits of about 1:150 to about 1:1.33, but also to include sub-ranges, such as 1:2 to 1:50, 1:40 to 1:100, and so forth, as well as individual ratios, including fractional amounts, within the specified ranges. [0019] In view of the drawbacks associated with liquid formulations, and the solid formulations known in the art, the present disclosure provides a unique combination of ingredients which when combined in predetermined weight concentrations provides a solid cleansing composition which breaks easily on application of minimal shear in presence of water and can be applied to a wet substrate to cleanse and generates lather in the process. The solid cleansing composition provides a unique granular texture sensorial upon application, and is transparent.
[0020] The present disclosure discloses a solid cleansing composition comprising: (a) at least two gums; (b) at least one surfactant; and (c) water, wherein water has a weight percentage in the range of 60% to 78% with respect to the composition. The at least two gums to the at least one surfactant w/w ratio is in the range of 1:150 to 1:1.33 with respect to the composition. The crucial factor of the present composition is the presence of the solid state of the composition in spite of having at least 60% of water by weight of the total composition. The sensorial features have also been found to be acceptable to the known cleansing formulations. The gum and surfactant concentrations are fixed such that the product crumbles on

minimal shear without being brittle, unbreakable or slippery during holding or
product application. Gum selection and concentration also impacts processability
and product characteristics such as transit stability and lather volume.

[0058] Although the subject matter has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain examples and implementations thereof, other implementations are possible. EXAMPLES
[0059] The disclosure will now be illustrated with working examples, which is intended to illustrate the working of disclosure and not intended to take restrictively to imply any limitations on the scope of the present disclosure. Unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood to one of ordinary skill in the art to which this disclosure belongs. Although methods and materials similar or equivalent to those described herein can be used in the practice of the disclosed methods and compositions, the exemplary methods, devices and materials are described herein. It is to be understood that this disclosure is not limited to particular methods, and experimental conditions described, as such methods and conditions may apply. [0060] The working and non-working examples as depicted herein asserts the criticality of the weight percentages and weight ratios of surfactants, gum, and humectants as disclosed in the present disclosure. The examples have been adjudged based on the sensorial parameters obtained upon panel testing.

[0061] The Table 1 depicted below describes five working examples A, B, C, D, and E. The ranges of different components as disclosed herein have been included in the table for comparison.

[0062] Referring to Table 1, it can be analyzed that the examples A-E have been prepared in accordance with the disclosed composition using a process as disclosed herein. All the working examples display an excellent sensorial in a manner that the solid composition has a desirable granular texture, along with production of rich lather and enhanced stability. The examples also have acceptable hardness associated with the product. The weight percentages of the components play a crucial role in the stability and state of the composition. It can be observed that in spite of the presence of more than 60% water, the composition remains a solid and exhibits enhanced sensorial. The examples C and D display the highest amount of water as compared to the other three.

[0063] The Figure 1 depicts the final product of the present disclosure. It can be observed that the product is in form of solid globules. A standardized amount of globules can be taken for a specific purpose according to the needs of the customers. For instance, two globules can be used for medium-length hair wash.
Non-working examples
[0064] The non-working examples as depicted in Table 2 below does not
comprise of the constituents in accordance with the respective weight percentages.

Product sensorial: '+++' = Excellent sensorial with Granular not slippery Scrub texture; '++' = Acceptable sensorial not slippery texture; '+' = Breaks into pieces which do not dissolve completely on continuous rubbing with water
[0065] Referring to Table 2, it can be observed that none of the examples F to J are displaying acceptable product sensorial. Considering the non-working example F, it can be observed that the weight percentage of carrageenan is 2% with respect to the composition. The weight percentage is clearly beyond the range disclosed in

the present document. Thus, on varying the weight percentage of low molecular weight gum - carrageenan, the desirable features are not obtained. [0066] The non-working example G has 0.005% of high molecular weight gellan gum which is less than that of the disclosed range. It can be observed that the obtained product is very brittle and easily disintegrates on handling. The non-working example H has 17% of humectant which is beyond the disclosed range of humectants. Thus, it can be observed that the obtained product is not stable and releases water upon storage which is a highly undesirable feature. The non-working example I has a very content of water (-82%). The upper limit of the water content that is acceptable in the present composition is 78%. The non-working example J has a very high content of surfactant (35%) which is significantly higher than the disclosed limit. Thus, it can be observed that the present example forms a lumpy gel instead being in solid state, and also the present product is unstable and releases water.
[0067] Therefore, it can be appreciated that the disclosed weight percentage ranges are based upon significant experimental efforts. Any deviation from the disclosed ranges renders the product unacceptable.
