A Common Rail For A Fuel Injection System

Abstract: A common rail (200) for a fuel injection system (100) comprising a pressure compensation valve (300) attached to an end (205) of said common rail (200). The pressure compensation valve (300) comprising a valve housing (305) having a hollow chamber (350) and at least two valve elements (310) attached to the two projected ends (330) of said valve housing (305). The valve elements (310) form an orifice (325) having an opening towards said end (205) of common rail (200) where the pressure compensation valve (300) is attached. The hollow chamber (350) of the valve housing (305) comprising a poppet (320) and a spring (335) in a manner such that said poppet (320) is abutting said spring (335).

Specification

Claims:1. A common rail (200) for a fuel injection system (100) comprising at least:
- a first end (210), said first end being connected to a rail pressure sensor (215); and
- a second end (205);
characterized in that
- a pressure compensation valve (300) located in said second end (205) of said rail (200), said pressure compensation valve(300) comprising:
- a valve housing (305) having a hollow chamber;
- at least two valve elements (310) affixed to one end of said valve housing;
- a poppet (320) located in said hollow chamber (350);
- a spring (335) located in said hollow chamber (350) in a manner such that said poppet (320) is abutting said spring (335).
2. A common rail fuel injection system (100) comprising at least:
- a common rail (200), said common rail (200) when placed in an assembly position, having a first end (210), said first end being connected to a rail pressure sensor (215), and a second end (205);
characterized in that
- a pressure compensation valve (300) located in said second end (205) of said rail (200), said pressure compensation valve(300) comprising:
- a valve housing (305) having a hollow chamber;
- at least two valve elements (310) affixed to one end of said valve housing;
- a poppet (320) located in said hollow chamber (350);
- a spring (335) located in said hollow chamber (350) in a manner such that said poppet (320) is abutting said spring (335).
3. The common rail (200) for fuel injection system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said valve elements (310) have external threading to facilitate screwing onto the said second end (205) of said common rail (200).
4. The common rail (200) for fuel injection system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said valve housing (305) of said pressure compensation valve (300) comprises of two projected ends (330).
5. The common rail (200) for fuel injection system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said valve elements (310) of said pressure compensation valve (300) are attached to said projected ends (330).
6. The common rail (200) for fuel injection system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said valve elements (310) are detachable.
7. The common rail (200) for fuel injection system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said valve elements (310) attached to said projected ends (330) of said valve housing (305) form an orifice (325), said orifice opening towards said second end (205) of said common rail (200).
