, Description:Complete Specification:

The following specification describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of the invention
[0001] The present disclosure relates generally to common rail fuel injectors, and more particularly to a sleeve for a nozzle of common rail fuel injectors.

Background of the invention
[0002] In current common rail fuel injector design, there is a field failure seen of nozzle shaft breakages, which is due to lateral load acting on nozzle shaft region.
[0003] After root cause analysis for the field components, failure is seen particularly at the nozzle side due to shaft breakages issues, which is due to one sided contact. This leads to marks that are visible at the shaft region and therefore resulting in shaft breakages and functional failure of the injectors leading to a surge of customer complaint.
[0004] The main effects because of said issue are, namely, field failure and customer complaint. Components functional failure may lead to the liability of the organization, and thus may tamper with the prestige of brand image.
[0005] Consequences of the above issue will lead to impact on customer satisfaction.
[0006] To overcome with the existing issue of nozzle shaft breakages, it is necessary to correct or to modify the some of the design parameters which are also customer interface to protect fuel injector component towards avoid the field failure.

Brief description of the accompanying drawings
[0007] An embodiment of the disclosure is described with reference to the following accompanying drawings,
[0008] Figure 1 illustrates a common rail fuel injector in accordance with an embodiment of our invention.
Detailed description of the drawings
[0008] Figure 1 illustrates a common rail fuel injector (100). The common rail fuel injector (100) comprises among other things at least an injector body (105), a nozzle body (110) that abuts from one end of the injector body 9105) when the fuel injector (100) is held in assembly position and a nozzle hole (115) which opens up to the injector needle of the fuel injector (100).

[0009] In one embodiment of the common rail fuel injector (100), a nozzle sleeve (12) is provided. The nozzle sleeve (120) encompasses the entire length of the nozzle body (110) up until the nozzle hole (115) and covers the entire longitudinal axis of the same.
[0010] This will eliminate the issue of component and field failure by providing the sleeve (120) to protect and avoid the shaft breakages by evade the lateral load nozzle shaft region (as shown in the proposal design). Thus, the applied load will be taken by sleeve (120) hence nozzle is protected.
[0011] The sleeve (120) must be designed in such way that it must accommodate at the engine receiving bore region to protect the nozzle shaft.
[0012] It must be understood that the embodiments explained in the above detailed description are only illustrative and do not limit the scope of this invention. Any modification to the common rail fuel injector (100) are envisaged and form a part of this invention. The scope of this invention is limited only by the claims.
