Abstract: A communication device (100) with digital assistance is provided. The communication device includes a body (102), a processing subsystem (110), and a portable handset (116). The body accommodates a smart display unit (104) and a connection unit (108). The smart display unit displays user-relevant information. and includes a camera unit (106) to facilitate a user to establish video calls. The connection unit connects and controls a plurality of external devices through wireless connections. The processing subsystem includes an artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module (114) configured to receive at least one voice command from the user, retrieve the user-relevant information in response to the voice command, and respond to the voice command and communicate the retrieved user-relevant information as an audio response to the user. The portable handset is operatively coupled to the body. The detachable handset is operable to facilitate voice communications. FIG. 1
Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] Embodiments of a present disclosure relate to the field of communication, and more particularly to a communication device with digital assistance and a method for operating the same.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Communication is the way of sending and receiving information. Communication can be done by various means such as verbal, non-verbal, written, visual, and the like. Commonly used mode of communication is written communication and verbal communication. Various modes of verbal communication are available in today’s era. The most used mode of verbal communication is the telephone. This mode of communication may include a voice message transfer, a mobile phone, a fixed line phone, and the like. Fixed line phones refer to a dedicated line, which establishes a permanent connection between two locations. The fixed line phones have stationary use of the phone.
[0003] The problem with fixed-line phones is, there is no upgradation happening in the fixed-line phones. In smartphones, due to the availability of various smart features, fixed-line phones are disappearing from the market. There is a need of a device that combines the fixed-line phone with other smart features that are available in smartphones or smart devices. Further, there is a need for a system, which reduces the separate use of traditional fixed-line phones and a smartphone. Also, there is a need for a system for fixed-line phones, by which the fixed-line phones are able to connect with various other communication devices. There is a need of a system apart from calling which may provide various digital services in the fixed line phones.
[0004] Hence, there is a need for a communication device with digital assistance and a method for operating the same which addresses the aforementioned issues.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
[0005] In accordance with one embodiment of the disclosure, a communication device with digital assistance is provided. The communication device includes a body, a processing subsystem, a portable handset, and a connection unit. The body is configured for accommodating a plurality of units, wherein the plurality of units includes a smart display unit that is operatively coupled with the body and configured to display user-relevant information. The smart display unit comprises a camera unit mounted on the smart display unit. The camera unit is configured to facilitate a user to establish video calls. The connection unit is positioned in the body and configured to connect a plurality of external devices through wireless connections, wherein the connection unit is configured to control the connected plurality of external devices. The processing subsystem is hosted on a server, operatively coupled with the smart display unit and configured to execute on a network to control bidirectional communications among a plurality of modules including the artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module operatively coupled to the smart display unit. The artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module is configured to receive at least one voice command from the user, wherein the voice command unit processes the at least one voice command received, corresponding to the user requirement. The artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module is also configured to retrieve the user relevant information in response to the voice command from a server. Further, the artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module is configured to respond to the voice command by at least one of the display the retrieved user relevant information via the smart display module. the artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module is configured to communicate the retrieved user relevant information as an audio response to the user. The portable handset is operatively coupled to the body. The portable handset is detachable handset and is operable to facilitate voice communication.

The method includes displaying, by a smart display unit of the body, user-relevant information. The method also includes mounting, by the smart display unit of the body, a camera unit on the smart display unit, and facilitating a user to establish video calls. Furthermore, the method includes connecting, by a connection unit, a plurality of external devices through wireless connections, and controlling the connected plurality of external devices. Further, the method includes receiving, by an artificial intelligent-enables voice command module of a processing system, at least one voice command from the user, and processing the at least one voice command received, corresponding to the user requirement. Further, the method includes retrieving, by the artificial intelligent-enables voice command module of the processing system, the user relevant information in response to the voice command from a server. Furthermore, the method includes responding, by the artificial intelligent-enables voice command module of the processing system, to the voice command by at least one of the display the retrieved user relevant information via the smart display module and communicating the retrieved user relevant information as an audio response to the user. Furthermore, the method includes facilitating, by a portable handset, with other communication devices, wherein the portable handset is a detachable handset.

The communication device (100) includes a body (102), a processing subsystem (110), and a portable handset (116). The AI-enabled device creates intelligent devices that simulate smart behaviour and supports in decision-making with no manual intervention.

In one embodiment, the portable handset (116) is detachable from the body (102) of the communication device (100). In one embodiment, the detachment may be done by slight pushing and sliding the portable handset (116).

In another embodiment, the portable handset (116) is of size which may be easily grasped by a palm of the user.

The device (100) may be used as a fixed-line phone when connected to a fixed-line network. The device (100) includes a smart display unit (104) configured with a camera used for video calls. The device (100) is connected to servers and a response will be sent to the device (100) through the Internet. The device (100) provides a connection with other devices nearby through but not limited to Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) or Bluetooth to control them.

In one embodiment, the device (100) is connected to the internet through (WiFi) or a local area network (LAN) port. When the senior executive gives a voice command and asks for information, the required information is received as a voice command and sent to the server for further processing. The device in the present disclosure combines a fixed-line phone and a smart device. The device consumes space and hence can be used as a table device. The device in the present disclosure is a portable device. The device is used as a hands-free device as the device responds to the voice commands given by the user. The device in the present disclosure is an artificial intelligence-enabled device, which provides exact information asked by the user using voice command.

a connection unit (108) positioned in the body (102) and configured to connect a plurality of external devices through wireless connections, wherein the connection unit (108) is configured to control the connected plurality of external devices;
a processing subsystem (110), hosted on a server (112), operatively coupled with the smart display unit (104) and configured to execute on a network to control bidirectional communications among a plurality of modules comprising:
an artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module (114) operatively coupled to the smart display unit (104) and configured to:
receive at least one voice command from the user, wherein the artificial intelligence-enabled voice command module (114) processes the at least one voice command received, corresponding to the user requirement;
retrieve the user relevant information in response to the voice command from a server (112); and
respond to the voice command by at least one of display the retrieved user relevant information via the smart display module (104) and communicate the retrieved user relevant information as an audio response to the user; and
a portable handset (116) operatively coupled to the body (102), wherein the detachable handset is operable to facilitate voice communications by the user.
2. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the smart display unit (104) comprises a plurality of pre-installed applications required for the functioning of a user command.
3. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the smart display unit (104) enables the user to cast the content displayed on the smart display unit (104) on a big screen.
4. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the connection unit (108) is configured to connect with other communication devices through wired connections.
5. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1 comprises a plurality of ports (118) configured on the body (102) for connecting the plurality of external devices through wires.
6. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, comprises a plurality of far-field microphones (116) to receive the at least one voice command.
7. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of communication devices are mobile phones, laptops, televisions, and telephones.
8. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, is connected to the internet through a plurality of wireless communication systems.
9. A method (200) for operating a communication device with digital assistance comprises:
displaying, by a smart display unit of the body, user-relevant information; (202)
