Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising Theobroma Cocoa extract, and Andrographis paniculata extract, and uses thereof. The disclosure also provides for a method of use of the said composition for neuro-protection and inhibiting neuronal toxicity.

Specification

Claims:1. A composition for comprising:
a) Theobroma cocoa extract; and
b) Andrographis paniculata extract,
wherein Theobroma cocoa extract to Andrographis paniculata extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1.5-1:9.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Theobroma cocoa extract to Andrographis paniculata extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1.5-1:4.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Theobroma cocoa extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.3125-1.25µg/ml, and Andrographis paniculata extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 1.875-2.8125µg/ml.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein Theobroma cocoa extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.625-1.25µg/ml, and Andrographis paniculata extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 1.875-2.5µg/ml.
5. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, further comprising at least one carrier, diluent, and excipient.
6. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-5.
7. A method for inhibiting neuronal toxicity, said method comprising the steps:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-5; and
b. contacting said composition with neurons,
wherein said method inhibits neuronal toxicity.
8. The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein neuronal toxicity is chemically induced.
9. A composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-5, for use in preparation of formulations for inhibiting neuronal cytotoxicity.
