Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
The present embodiment relates to a composition for absorbing liquid waste, and more particularly relates to the composition for absorbing spit/vomit.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The disposal of liquid wastes is an importance issue in our country. For example, agricultural wastes involve insoluble particles that are improperly dumped on roads etc.
During travelling, passengers tend to spit on roads. Also, people suffer from motion sickness that leads to vomiting. Since, there are no adequate means for dumping the vomit/spit, the passengers do not follow the hygienic practices and makes the roads dirty. This also leads to growth of a lot of bacteria in the environment and causes many diseases such as respiratory diseases, malaria etc.
There are many formulations available in the market that helps in overcoming the problems associated with the absorption/solidification of spit/vomit. However, the formulations include many compounds in different proportions.
Therefore, there is a need of the composition for absorbing/solidifying spit/vomit by employing fewer compounds having an efficient result. There is also a need of the composition that has a good absorbing capacity for spit/vomit.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An objective of the present embodiment is to provide composition for absorbing/solidifying a liquid waste.
Another objective of the present embodiment is to minimize infections from spit/vomit during travelling.
Yet another objective of the present embodiment is to mask the bad odour of the liquid waste.
Yet another objective of the present embodiment is to reduce the cost for waste disposal.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In an aspect, a composition for absorbing/solidifying a liquid wastes is provided. The liquid wastes include spit, vomit and other agricultural wastes. The composition includes 12 grams of a polyacrylate salt, 3 grams of a starch, 0.20 ml of a fragrance and 1 gram of an antibacterial salt. The polyacrylate salt is a polymer for absorbing/solidifying the liquid waste. The starch binds the composition together. The fragrance masks the bad odour of the liquid waste and the antibacterial salt helps in minimizing the growth of bacteria in the liquid waste.
The composition further includes a layer of polyvinyl alcohol to prevent the absorption of water/moisture present in the environment. The total weight of the composition ranges between 15-17 grams and is capable of absorbing/solidifying a volume of 300 ml-350 ml within 30 seconds.
The preceding is a simplified summary to provide an understanding of some aspects of embodiments of the present invention. This summary is neither an extensive nor exhaustive overview of the present invention and its various embodiments. The summary presents selected concepts of the embodiments of the present invention in a simplified form as an introduction to the more detailed description presented below. As will be appreciated, other embodiments of the present invention are possible utilizing, alone or in combination, one or more of the features set forth above or described in detail below.
DETAILED DESCRPTION
As used throughout this application, the word "may" is used in a permissive sense (i.e., meaning having the potential to), rather than the mandatory sense (i.e., meaning must). Similarly, the words “include”, “including”, and “includes” mean including but not limited to.
The phrases “at least one”, “one or more”, and “and/or” are open-ended expressions that are both conjunctive and disjunctive in operation. For example, each of the expressions “at least one of A, B and C”, “at least one of A, B, or C”, “one or more of A, B, and C”, “one or more of A, B, or C” and “A, B, and/or C” means A alone, B alone, C alone, A and B together, A and C together, B and C together, or A, B and C together.
The term “a” or “an” entity refers to one or more of that entity. As such, the terms “a” (or “an”), “one or more” and “at least one” can be used interchangeably herein. It is also to be noted that the terms “comprising”, “including”, and “having” can be used interchangeably.
As mentioned, there is a need of a composition for absorbing/solidifying a liquid waste. Accordingly, the composition for absorbing/solidifying the liquid waste is provided herein. The liquid waste includes waste such as, but not limited to, agricultural wastes, vomit and spit. In a preferred embodiment, the liquid waste includes spit and vomit.
The composition includes a polyacrylate salt, a starch, a fragrance and an antibacterial salt. The composition further comprises a layer of polyvinyl alcohol.
The composition includes 12 grams of the polyacrylate salt. In an embodiment, the polyacrylate salt is sodium polyacrylate. In another embodiment, the polyacrylate salt is potassium polyacrylate.
The polyacrylate salt is an absorbent polymer. The polyacrylate salt has carboxyl group that forms hydrogen bond with the water of the liquid waste. The sodium and/or potassium make the polyacrylate salt bi-polar. The water attaches to both the positive and negative ion of the polyacrylate salt and therefore helps in absorbing more water. The sodium polyacrylate and potassium polyacrylate has the ability to absorb 100 to 1000 times more water than the mass of the polyacrylate salt.
The composition includes 3 grams of the starch. In an embodiment, the starch helps in binding the composition together.
The composition includes 0.20 ml of the fragrance. In an embodiment, the fragrance includes odors such as, but not limited to, mogra, lavender, rose. The fragrance helps in masking the bad odour of the vomit/spit. The fragrance helps in reducing the bad odour so that an article having the vomit/spit can be carried in the vehicle until a bin is spotted.
The composition includes 1 gram of the antibacterial salt. The antibacterial salt includes salts such as, but not limited to, Chlorohexidine Di Gluconate, silicone, polypropylene, ethylene vinyl acetate. In a preferred embodiment, the antibacterial salt is Chlorohexidine Di Gluconate. The antibacterial salt helps in reducing the bacterial infections in the liquid waste. The antibacterial salt helps in reducing the spread of diseases.
The composition further comprises the layer of polyvinyl alcohol to prevent the absorption of water/moisture present in the environment. For example, during rainy season, the humidity is higher in the environment and thus there is an increased risk of moisture absorption from the environment.
The composition is in a powder form and/or is pressed into a tablet/disc. The total weight of the composition ranges between 15-17 grams. The composition has an absorbing capacity in the range of 300-350 ml. The composition is able to absorb/solidify the liquid waste in the range of 300-350 ml. The liquid waste is absorbed/solidifies within a time period of 30 seconds. The composition solidifies the liquid waste into a spill proof jelly-like form and reduces the bad odour from the waste. The composition is used in a variety of articles such as, but not limited to, a paper bag, a cup, a container, a bottle and a bin.
The foregoing discussion of the present invention has been presented for purposes of illustration and description. It is not intended to limit the present invention to the form or forms disclosed herein. In the foregoing Detailed Description, for example, various features of the present invention are grouped together in one or more embodiments, configurations, or aspects for the purpose of streamlining the disclosure. The features of the embodiments, configurations, or aspects may be combined in alternate embodiments, configurations, or aspects other than those discussed above. This method of disclosure is not to be interpreted as reflecting an intention the present invention requires more features than are expressly recited in each claim. Rather, as the following claims reflect, inventive aspects lie in less than all features of a single foregoing disclosed embodiment, configuration, or aspect.
