A Composition For Controlling Pests

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition of chemical compounds in particular weight concentrations which is effective in inhibiting hymenopteran infestation of plants. Devices are also provided, comprising said composition, which can be utilized for control of plant infestation.

DESC:A COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING PESTS, METHODS AND USES THEREOF ,CLAIMS:1. A composition for controlling hymenopteran infestation in plants, said composition comprising:
a.L-a-terpineol having weight concentration in the range of 15.98-23.98%;
b.epiglobulol having weight concentration in the range of 10.95-16.43%;
c.?-elemene having weight concentration in the range of 15.47-23.21%;
d.a-copaene having weight concentration in the range of 7.54-11.32%;
e.R-limonene having weight concentration in the range of 5.97-8.95%;
f.eucalyptol having weight concentration in the range of 49.58-74.36%;
g.linalyl acetate having weight concentration in the range of 0.35-0.53%;
h.nonanal having weight concentration in the range of 0.26-0.4%;
i.1-hexanol, 2-ethyl having weight concentration in the range of 0.15-0.29%;
j.longifolene-(V4) having weight concentration in the range of 0.05-0.07%; and
k.isoledene having weight concentration in the range of 0.08-0.12%.
2.The composition as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a.L-a-terpineol having weight concentration of 19.98%;
b.epiglobulol having weight concentration of 13.69%;
c.?- elemene having weight concentration of 19.34%;
d.a-copaene having weight concentration of 9.43%;
e.R-limonene having weight concentration of 7.46%;
f.eucalyptol having weight concentration of 61.97%;
g.linalyl acetate having weight concentration of 0.44%;
h.nonanal having weight concentration of 0.33%;
i.1-hexanol, 2-ethyl having weight concentration of 0.19%;
j.longifolene-(V4) having weight concentration of 0.06%; and
k.isoledene having weight concentration of 0.1%.
3.The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, further comprising at least one non-polar solvent.
4.A device for controlling hymenopteran infestation in plants, said device comprising:
a.at least one disseminator for controlled release of a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3; and
b.at least one trap for collection of hymenopteran insects.
5.The device as claimed in claim 4, further comprising at least one reservoir containing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3.
6.A method for controlling hymenopteran infestation in plants, said method comprising:
a.obtaining a device as claimed in any of the claims 4-5; and
b.locating said device near plants susceptible to hymenopteran infestation,
wherein said method inhibits plant hymenopteran infestation by attracting hymenopteran insects to said device.
