Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising retinoic acid and dihydrooxyresveratrol which at specific w/w ratios is able to enhance the expression levels of NOGGIN and vascular endothelial growth factor gene and thus, aid in the promotion of hair growth. Also provided are the methods of preparation and usage of the same

Specification
Claims:1. A composition comprising:
(a) retinoic acid; and
(b) dihydrooxyresveratrol,
wherein retinoic acid to dihydrooxyresveratrol w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:0.66-1:9.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein retinoic acid to dihydrooxyresveratrol w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1-1:9.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein retinoic acid to dihydrooxyresveratrol w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1.5-1:4.
4. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, further comprising:
(a) at least one carrier;
(b) at least one diluent; and
(c) at least one excipient.
5. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining retinoic acid;
(b) obtaining dihydrooxyresveratrol; and
(c) contacting retinoic acid and dihydrooxyresveratrol to obtain said composition.
6. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining retinoic acid;
(b) obtaining dihydrooxyresveratrol;
(c) obtaining at least one carrier;
(d) obtaining at least one diluent;
(e) obtaining at least one excipient; and
(f) contacting retinoic acid, dihydrooxyresveratrol, the at least one carrier, the at least one diluent, and the at least one excipient to obtain said composition.
7. A method for promoting hair growth, said method comprising:
(a) obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1- 4; and
(b) contacting said composition with hair follicles,
wherein said composition promotes hair growth.
8. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, wherein said composition promotes hair growth by enhancing NOGGIN gene expression.
9. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, wherein said composition promotes hair growth by enhancing Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor gene expression.
