Abstract: The pump 12 comprises a housing 14 and an inlet 16 that is in fluid communication with a fuel chamber 18 in the housing 14. The connector 10 comprises a locking element 20 and at least one sealing element 22 enclosed on one portion of the 5 connector 10. The locking element 20 adapted to restrict a movement of the connector 10 in the housing 14 and the at least one sealing element 22 adapted to restrict a flow of fuel out of the inlet 16.

Specification

Claims:1. A connector (10) for a high pressure pump (12),
said pump (12) comprising a housing (14); an inlet (16) in fluid
communication with a fuel chamber (18) in said housing (14);
said connector (10) characterized 5 in that:
- a locking element (20) and at least one sealing element (22) enclosed
on one portion of said connector (10) in such a way that, said locking
element (20) and said at least one sealing element (22) adapted to
restrict a movement of said connector (10) in said housing (14) and
10 to restrict a flow of fuel out of said inlet (16).
2. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said housing (14) of
said pump (12) comprises a first groove (24) and a second groove (26)
for accommodating said locking element (20) and said at least one
15 sealing element (22) respectively.
3. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 2, wherein said first groove (24)
is made in at a closed end (14(a)) of said housing (14) and said second
groove (26) is made at an open end (14(b)) of said housing (14).
4. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said connector (10)
comprises a first sealing element (28) and a second sealing element (30),
said first sealing element (28) is made smaller in dimensions than said
second sealing element (30).

5. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 4, wherein said second sealing
element (30) is fitted/positioned in said second groove (26) made at said
open end (14(b)) of said housing (14).
6. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein a portion of said
connector (10) comprises multiple ridges (32) for accommodating said
locking element (20) and said at least one sealing element (22).
7. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said 5 locking element
(20) comprises multiple flexible extensions (34) made opposite to each
other on an external surface (36) of said locking element (20).
8.The connector (10) as claimed in claim 7, wherein said flexible extensions
10 (34) gets compressed during assembly of said connector (10) into said
inlet (16) of said housing (14).
9. The connector (10) as claimed in claim 1, said locking element (20) and
said at least one sealing element (22) is made of a material chosen from
15 a group of materials comprising a flexible plastic, a rubber, Teflon and the
like. , Description:The pump 12 comprises a housing 14 and an inlet 16 that is in fluid communication with
a fuel chamber 18 in the housing 14. The connector 10 comprises a locking element 20
and at least one sealing element 22 enclosed on one portion of the 5 connector 10. The
locking element 20 adapted to restrict a movement of the connector 10 in the housing
14 and the at least one sealing element 22 adapted to restrict a flow of fuel out of the
inlet 16.
