Abstract: A controller (110) and method for adaptive gearshift assist in a vehicle (100) is disclosed. The controller (110) is adapted to receive the engine RPM (114), receive speed (116) of the vehicle (100), receive the input signal (112) from the shift assist sensor (102), determine the gear shift functionality 5 (122) based on ratio of the engine RPM (114) and the speed (116) of the vehicle (100), determine the shift assist functionality (124) based on the gear shift functionality (122) and the input signal (114) and actuate gearshift based on the shift assist functionality (124).
Claims:1. A controller (110) for adaptive quick gearshift in a vehicle (100), said
vehicle (100) comprising a shift assist sensor (102),
said controller (110) 5 is adapted to:
? receive an engine RPM (114);
? receive speed (116) of said vehicle (100);
? receive an input signal (112) from said shift assist sensor (102);
? determine a gear shift functionality (122) based on ratio of said
10 engine RPM (114) and said speed (116) of said vehicle (100);
? determine a shift assist functionality (124) based on said gear shift
functionality (122) and said input signal (114); and
? actuate gearshift based on said shift assist functionality (124).
2. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said input signal
15 (112) is change in voltage caused in said shift assist sensor (102) to
actuate gearshift.
3. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110)
calibrated with a predetermined plurality of gearshift ratios (126) of
engine RPM and vehicle speed, said predetermined plurality of
20 gearshift ratios (126) configured for different ride modes.
4. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, enables said gear shift
functionality (122) by comparing ratio of said engine RPM (114) and
said vehicle speed (116) with said predetermined plurality of gearshift
ratios (126) based on the ride mode.
5. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, activates said shift assist
functionality (124) when said shift assist sensor (102) produces desired
change in voltage and said gearshift functionality (122) is enabled.
6. A method for adaptive quick gearshift in a vehicle (100), said vehicle
(100) comprising a controller (110), a shift assist 5 sensor (102),
said method comprising the steps of:
? receiving, by said controller (110), an engine RPM (114);
? receiving, by said controller (110), speed (116) of said vehicle (100);
? receiving, by said controller (110), an input signal (112) from said
10 shift assist sensor (102);
? determining, by said controller (110), a gear shift functionality (122)
based on ratio of said engine RPM (114) and speed (116) of said
vehicle (100);
? determining, by said controller (110), a shift assist functionality (124)
15 based on said gear shift functionality (122) and said input signal
(114); and
? actuating, by said controller(110), gearshift based on said shift
assist functionality (124).
7. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein said input signal (112) is
20 change in voltage caused in said shift assist sensor (102) to actuate
gearshift.
8. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110)
calibrated with a predetermined plurality of gearshift ratio (126) of
engine RPM and vehicle speed, said predetermined plurality of
gearshift ratio (126) configured for different ride modes.
9. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110) enables
said gearshift functionality (122) by comparing ratio of said engine RPM
(114) and said vehicle speed (116) with said predetermined plurality of
gearshift ratios (126) based on the ride mode.
10. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said 5 controller (110)
activates said shift assist functionality (124) when said shift assist
sensor (102) produces desired change in voltage and said gearshift
