Abstract: A controller (110) and method to assist gearshift in a vehicle is disclosed. The controller (110) is adapted to receive a primary input signal (112) from the shift assist sensor (102), receive a secondary input signal (114) from the gearbox position sensor (104), determine a shift assist functionality 5 (116) based on the primary input signal (112) and the secondary input signal (114) and actuate gear shift based on the shift assist functionality (116).
Claims:1. A controller (110) to assist gear shift in a vehicle (100), said vehicle
(100) comprising a shift assist sensor (102), a gear position sensor
5 (104),
said controller (110) is adapted to:
? receive a primary input signal (112) from said shift assist sensor
(102);
? receive a secondary input signal (114) from said gearbox position
10 sensor (104);
? determine a shift assist functionality (116) based on said primary
input signal (112) and said secondary input signal (114); and
? actuate gear shift based on said shift assist functionality (116).
2. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said primary input
15 signal (112) is change in voltage caused in said shift assist sensor (102)
to actuate gearshift.
3. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110)
calibrated with a predetermined threshold voltage of said gearbox
position sensor (114).
4. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said secondary input
signal (114) is change in voltage caused in said gearbox position sensor
(104).
5. The controller (110) as claimed in claim 1, activates said shift assist
functionality (116) based on change in voltage in said shift assist sensor
25 (102) and said gearbox position sensor (104), wherein said gearbox
position sensor (104) voltage changes by the predetermined threshold
voltage of said gearbox position sensor (104).
6. A method for assisting gear shift in a vehicle (100), said vehicle (100)
comprising a controller (110), a shift assist sensor (102), a gear position
5 sensor (104),
said method comprising the steps of:
? receiving, by said controller (110), a primary input signal (112) from
said shift assist sensor (102);
? receiving, by said controller (110), a secondary input signal (114)
10 from said gearbox position sensor (104);
? determining, by said controller (110), a shift assist functionality (116)
based on said primary input signal (112) and said secondary input
signal (114); and
? actuating, by said controller (110), gear shift based on said shift
15 assist functionality (116).
7. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein said primary input signal
(112) is change in voltage caused in said shift assist sensor (102) to
actuate gearshift.
8. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110)
20 calibrated with a predetermined threshold voltage of said gearbox
position sensor (114).
9. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said secondary input signal
(114) is change in voltage caused in said gearbox position sensor (104).
10. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110) activates said shift assist functionality (116) based on change in voltage
in said shift assist sensor (102) and said gearbox position sensor (104),
wherein said gearbox position sensor (104) voltage changes by the
predetermined threshold voltage of said gearbox position sensor (104). , Description:A controller (110) and method to assist gearshift in a vehicle is disclosed. The
