Abstract: ABSTRACT A DATA RETRIEVAL SYSTEM Examples of a data retrieval system (102) for retrieving a nutraceutical product document based on a user profile data and thus also identifying the appropriate nutraceutical product, are described. In an example, a set of nutraceutical product documents (108) and a corresponding metadata information are retrieved from a database repository (104). In one example, the corresponding metadata information includes a nutritional parameter (110) pertaining to the nutraceutical product. Thereafter, the data retrieval system (102) compares a user characteristic parameter (128) extracted from a user profile data with the nutritional parameter (110) of each of the nutraceutical product documents. Based on the comparison, a target nutraceutical product document (130) is selected from the retrieved set of nutraceutical product documents (108).
