Abstract: The present invention relates to a fire proof electrical distribution box for warships. The said fireproof electrical distribution box (1) comprises, an openable casing (2) with handle (3) and hinges (4); two or more elevated clamping means (5) affixed on said casing (2); a fireproof base plate (6) having plurality of holes, and affixed onto said clamping means (5) using plurality of fastening members (7); and two or more copper plates (8) affixed on said fireproof base plate (6), using plurality of fastening members (7). Further, said fireproof electrical distribution box can withstand 40 KV without breakdown for one minute.
DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention relates to an electrical distribution box. More particularly, the present invention relates to a fire proof electrical distribution box for warships.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
An electrical distribution box is the main part in an electrical supply system. It serves as the load centre and distributes electrical power to secondary circuits and also provides a fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit.
There are huge number of electrical equipments on ships, these electrical equipments are usually arranged into several groups according to certain principles, and each group of electrical equipment is connected to the main switchboard through an electrical distribution box and a cable. The said electrical distribution box distributes electrical energy from the main power source to a group of electrical devices and equipments.
Many a times, there are fire incidents on ships due to short circuits in these electrical distribution box. Currently, the available electrical distribution box are bulky with numerous different number of parts.
CN216929228U discloses a fireproof distribution box with a firebreak device mainly comprising a block terminal structure having a box with mounting bracket and baffle; a lifting structure; and a fire extinguishing structure having a fire extinguishing tank and smoke transducer. CN’228 thus fails to disclose a fireproof electrical distribution box which can prevent fire and avoid any such fire accidents.
Thus, there is a need to find a solution to this problem to avoid such fire accidents in an electrical distribution box.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
It is an object of the present invention to avoid fire accident occurring through electrical distribution box on warships.
It is another object of the present invention to provide an electrical distribution box that can withstand 40 KV for one minute without breakdown.
It is another objective of the present invention to provide a fireproof sheet as base plate to avoid fire incidents.
Accordingly, the present invention discloses a fireproof electrical distribution box mainly comprising, an openable casing with handle and hinges; two or more elevated clamping means affixed on said casing; a fireproof base plate having plurality of holes, and affixed onto said clamping means using plurality of fastening members; and two or more copper plates affixed on said fireproof base plate, using plurality of fastening members.
The present invention further provides a small gap between the box and the fireproof base plate using elevated clamping means.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention is described herein in detail with the help of figures appended at the end of the specification. The figures illustrate the preferred embodiment as well as other embodiments that define the scope of the present invention. However, it may be understood that the figures presented herein are intended to exemplify the scope of the invention only. The person skilled in art may note that by no means the figures limit the scope of the invention. Any variation in the drawings by any other person will be falling in the scope of the present invention.
As illustrated in Figures 1-3, the present invention discloses a fireproof electrical distribution box to avoid fire accident occurring through electrical distribution box on warships.
Referring to figure 1, the fireproof electrical distribution box (1) comprises an openable casing (2) with handle (3) and hinges (4); two or more elevated clamping means (5) affixed on said casing (2).
Referring to figure 2, an openable casing (2) with hinges (4) for the fireproof electrical distribution box (1) is disclosed.
Referring to figure 3, the fireproof electrical distribution box (1), two or more copper plates (8) affixed on said fireproof base plate (6), using plurality of fastening members (7) is disclosed.
In a preferred embodiment according to the present invention, a fireproof electrical distribution box (1) comprises, an openable casing (2) with handle (3) and hinges (4); two or more elevated clamping means (5) affixed on said casing (2); a fireproof base plate (6) having plurality of holes, and affixed onto said clamping means (5) using plurality of fastening members (7); and two or more copper plates (8) affixed on said fireproof base plate (6), using plurality of fastening members (7).
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said openable casing (2) is a metal box made of mild steel.
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said plurality of elevated clamping means (5) are selected from ‘C’ clamps.
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said elevated clamping means (5) are made of mild steel and is 3mm in thickness.
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said plurality of fastening members (7) are selected from nuts and bolts made of brass material.
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said fireproof plate (6) is affixed using plurality of fastening members (7) selected from brass material.
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said fireproof electrical distribution box (1) can withstand 40KV for one minute without breakdown.
In a further preferred embodiment according to the present invention, said elevated clamping means (5) helps to maintain a small gap between the casing and (2) fireproof base plate (6).
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, said casing (2) is made up of mild steel and is 280mm in length, 230mm in width and 70mm in height.
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, said ‘C’ clamp is 3mm thick.
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, the fireproof base plate (6) of length 250 mm and 120 mm width are drilled with 12 holes and is mounted on the ‘C’ clamp.
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, the water absorption capacity after immersing it for 24 hours in water at 200C is only 0.04.
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, the tensile strength of the fireproof base plate (6) is 290 N/mm.
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, the copper plates (8) of 23 cm in length, 1.4 cm in width and thickness of 3 mm is fitted on said fireproof base plate (6) using said fastening members (7).
In an exemplary embodiment according to the present invention, plurality of 8 mm brass nuts and bolts are fitted on copper plates (7), to prevent rusting.
The main advantage of the fireproof electrical distribution box according to the present invention is that it can withstand 40 KV without breakdown for one minute. Further, the tensile strength of the plates according to the present invention is 290 N/mm, whereas the tensile strength in the conventional distribution box is very low comparatively. Furthermore, the water absorption capacity after immersing it for 24 hours in water at 200C is only 0.04.

an openable casing (2) with handle (3) and hinges (4);
at least two elevated clamping means (5) affixed on said casing (2);
a fireproof base plate (6) having plurality of holes, and affixed onto said clamping means (5) using plurality of fastening members (7); and
at least two copper plates (8) affixed on said fireproof base plate (6), using said plurality of fastening members (7).
2. The fireproof electrical distribution box (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said openable casing (2) is a metal box made of mild steel.
3. The fireproof electrical distribution box (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of elevated clamping means (5) are selected from ‘C’ clamps.
4. The fireproof electrical distribution box (1) as claimed in claim 3, wherein said elevated clamping means (5) are made of mild steel and is 3mm in thickness.
5. The fireproof electrical distribution box (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of fastening members (7) are selected from nuts and bolts made of brass material.
6. The fireproof electrical distribution box (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said fireproof plate (6) is affixed using plurality of fastening members (7) selected from brass material.
7. The fireproof electrical distribution box (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said electrical distribution box (1) can withstand 40KV for one minute without breakdown.
