Abstract: The present disclosure provides a formulation and method for enhancing solubility of perfume in water in the absence of alcohol. Also provided are perfume formulation with high weight percentage of perfume that is clear and transparent.
CLIAMS:1. A composition comprising of:
a. hydrogenated castor oil,
b. butylene glycol,
wherein said composition enhances solubility of at least one perfume in water.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one perfume to hydrogenated castor oil w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1; at least one perfume to butylene glycol w/w ratio in said mixture is 1:2; and hydrogenated castor oil to butylene glycol w/w ratio in said composition is 1:2 .
3. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, wherein said hydrogenated castor oil is selected from the group consisting of PEG7 hydrogenated castor oil, castor oil alkoxylate, PEG25 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG40 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG50 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG54 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG60 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG70 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG90 hydrogenated castor oil, and combinations thereof.
4. A method of enhancing solublization of perfume in water, said method comprising of:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3; and
b. mixing said composition with perfume and water to obtain a solution,
wherein said method enhances solubility of perfume in water.
5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein perfume to castor oil w/w ratio in said mixture is 1:1; perfume to butylene glycol w/w ratio in said mixture is 1:2; and hydrogenated castor oil to butylene glycol w/w ratio in said mixture is 1:2.
6. A perfume formulation comprising of:
a. hydrogenated castor oil,
b. butylene glycol;
c. water; and
d. at least one perfume,
wherein, perfume to hydrogenated castor oil w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1; perfume to butylene glycol w/w ratio in said mixture is 1:2; and hydrogenated castor oil to butylene glycol w/w ratio in said composition is 1:2.

The perfume formulation as claimed in claim 6, wherein said hydrogenated castor oil is at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of PEG7 hydrogenated castor oil, castor oil alkoxylate, PEG25 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG40 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG50 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG54 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG60 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG70 hydrogenated castor oil, PEG90 hydrogenated castor oil, and combinations thereof.
8. The perfume formulation as claimed in any of the claims 6-7, further comprising of at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of:
a. at least one anti-oxidant having weight percentage in the range of 0.01-0.2%;
b. at least one anti-microbial agent having weight percentage in the range of 0.05-0.5% ;
c. at least one preservative having weight percentage in the range of 0.01-1%;
d. at least one sunscreen agent having weight percentage in the range of 0.01-1%;
9. The perfume formulation as claimed in any of the claims 6-8, wherein said perfume formulation is clear and transparent at temperatures ranging from 5 oC to 55 oC.
10. The perfume formulation as claimed in any of the claims 6-9, wherein said perfume formulation viscosity is in the range of 100-1500 centipoise.
11. The perfume formulation as claimed in any of the claims 6-10, wherein said perfume formulation refractive index is in the range of 1-1.5.
12. A method of preparing a perfume formulation as claimed in any of the claims 6-11, said method comprising of:
a. adding at least one perfume at a weight percentage of 0.2-15% of said formulation;
b. adding at least one anti-microbial agent and stirring;
c. adding at least one anti-oxidant and stirring;
d. adding at least one sunscreen agent and stirring;
e. adding at least one preservative and stirring;
f. adding butylene glycol and stirring;
g. adding hydrogenated castor oil and stirring; and
h. adding water and stirring for to obtain said perfume formulation.
13. A perfume formulation comprising of:
a. Zero GFA;
b. triclosan;
c. butylated hydroxytoluene;
d. covabsorb EW;
e. ethyl hexyl glycerin;
f. butylene glycol;
g. PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil; and
h. water.
wherein said perfume formulation is clear and transparent.
14. A method of preparing a perfume formulation as claimed in claim 13, said method comprising of:
a. adding Zero GFA at a weight percentage of 0.2-15% of said formulation;
b. adding triclosan at a weight percentage of 0.1% of said formulation, and stirring;
c. adding butylated hydroxytoluene at a weight percentage of 0.02%, and stirring of said formulation;
d. adding covabsorb EW at a weight percentage of 0.05% of said formulation, and stirring ;
e. adding ethyl hexylglycerin at a weight percentage of 0.4% of said formulation, and stirring;
f. adding butylene glycol at a weight percentage of 0.4-30% of said formulation, and stirring;
g. adding PEG40 hydrogenated castor oil at a weight percentage of 0.2-15% of said formulation, and; and
h. adding water at a weight percentage of 39.43-98.63% of said formulation, and stirring to obtain said perfume formulation.
