Abstract: A fuel pump 10 comprising a plunger 102 with a plunger foot 104 at the bottom of the plunger 102 in the operative configuration of the plunger 102, a spring seat 106 adapted to engage at least a portion of said plunger foot 104, said spring seat 106 comprising an operative top surface to support a plunger spring 108, and a roller tappet 110 comprising at least one hex nut 112, said at least one hex nut 112 in contact with said spring seat 106. The spring seat 106 further comprises of a recess 114 on the operative bottom surface of said spring seat 106. The fuel pump also comprises of a disc spring 116 located in said recess 114 on the operative bottom surface of said spring seat 106, and the plunger foot 104 abuts the said disc spring 116.

Specification

Claims:1. A fuel pump (10) comprising:
- a plunger (102) comprising a plunger foot (104) at the bottom of said
plunger (102) in the operative configuration of said plunger (102);
- a spring seat (106) adapted to engage at least a portion of said plunger
foot (104), said spring seat (106) comprising an operative top surface
to support a plunger spring (108); and
- a roller tappet (110) comprising at least one hex nut (112), said at least
one hex nut (112) in contact with said spring seat (106),
characterized in that
- said spring seat (106) comprising a recess (114) on the operative
bottom surface of said spring seat (106); and
- a disc spring (116) located in said recess (114) on the operative bottom
surface of said spring seat (106).
2. The fuel pump (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said disc spring (116) is
located in said recess (114) of said spring seat (106) in manner such that
said plunger foot (104) abuts said disc spring (116). , Description:A fuel pump 10 comprising a plunger 102 with a plunger foot 104 at the bottom

at least one hex nut 112 in contact with said spring seat 106. The spring seat
106 further comprises of a recess 114 on the operative bottom surface of said
spring seat 106. The fuel pump also comprises of a disc spring 116 located in
said recess 114 on the operative bottom surface of said spring seat 106, and
the plunger foot 104 abuts the said disc spring 116.
