Abstract: The system 10 comprises a fuel tank 12 connected to a high pressure pump 14 via a main path 16. The system 10 comprises a first filter 18 positioned in proximity 5 to the fuel tank 12 and a second filter 22 positioned in proximity to the fuel tank 12 in the main path 16. The system 10 comprises a control unit 20 adapted to control at least one operation of at least one component of the fuel supply system 10. The system 10 comprises an electronically controlled valve 24 positioned upstream to the first filter 18 in the main 10 path 16. The system 10 further comprises an auxiliary pump 26 positioned in a bypass path 28 wherein the bypass path 28 is formed between the first filter 18 and the valve 24.
Claims:1. A fuel supply system (10) in a vehicle, said system (10) comprising :
- a fuel tank (12) connected to a high pressure pump (14) via a main path (16);
- a first filter (18) positioned in proximity to said fuel tank (12) and a second
filter (22) positioned in proximity to said fuel tank (12) 5 in said main path
(16);
- a control unit (20) adapted to control at least one operation of at least one
component of said fuel supply system;
characterized in that :
10 - an electronically controlled valve (24) positioned upstream to said first filter
(18) in said main path (16);
- an auxiliary pump (26) positioned in a bypass path (28) , said bypass path
(28) is formed between said first filter (18) and said valve (24).
2. The system (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said one end of said bypass path
(28) is connected at upstream of said first filter (18) and other end of said bypass
path (28) is connected at upstream of said valve (24).
3. The system (10) as claimed in claim 2, wherein said other end of said bypass path
20 (28) connected at said upstream of said valve (24) converges into said main path
(16) for flow of fuel from said fuel tank (12).
4. The system (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said valve (24) is a uni-directional
25 non-return valve.
5. The system (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said auxiliary pump (26) is an
electric feed pump adapted to pump said fuel into said high pressure pump (14)
via said bypass path (28).
6. The system (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said control unit (20) adapted to
close said valve (24) and to operate said auxiliary pump (26) for said fuel to flow
through said bypass path (28) in at least one vehicle condition.
7. The system (10) as claimed in claim 6, wherein said at least one 5 vehicle condition
is chosen from a group of conditions comprising during an assembly of said high
pressure pump (14) into an engine unit (32), during an assembly of said engine
unit (32) in said vehicle, during an initial start of said vehicle, when said fuel tank
(12) comprises said fuel below a predefined limit and the like.
8. The system (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein an additional valve (30) is
positioned in said bypass path (28) after said auxiliary pump (26) to prevent a
leak of said fuel back into said fuel tank (12).

9. The system (10) as claimed in claim 8, wherein said control unit (20) adapted to
close said additional valve (30) when said fuel is flowing in said main path (16). , Description:The system 10 comprises a fuel tank 12 connected to a high pressure pump 14 via a main
