[001] The present invention relates to a face mask and more particularly to a mask which not only provides complete protection to the users from the viruses in the air but also designed with versatile smart filter adaptor for the purpose of integrating a variety of functionalities suitable for outdoor as well as indoor conditions.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:

[002] Many harmful particles and viruses are present in the atmosphere that may pose threat to the human health especially in hazardous work areas. During this pandemic time, wearing a normal surgical mask or any other mask is not sufficient as the virus is travelling in the air and can still be inhaled by the user wearing any of the above mentioned masks. Many doctors and patients have lost their lives during this pandemic time due to the lack of protective masks which can prevent the virus to enter into the human body.

[003] The masks currently present in the markets are not so comfortable and the users have to remove them from their face from time to time in order to breath. More over the users have to remove the mask from their face due to the extreme weather conditions.

[004] In order to provide safety for such people full face masks are designed. Full face mask are useful for protecting the eyes from any harmful viruses and particles, and also accommodates particle filters that spare the lungs of human beings. The full face mask acts as a shield to the face from harmful viruses and particles present in the atmosphere.

[043] Fig. 1 illustrates a front view of face mask in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. The face mask comprising a frame (1) with an air filter and vents that are snap-fit into place; a visor (10); a sealing gasket (13); a fastening straps (12) and a smart adaptor characterized in that it may fit on any type of air filter and also enables the use of a size adaptor that can help integrate the mask into other respiration/ life support systems like medical ventilators, positive pressure ventilation systems. A smart filter adaptor also enables integrating a variety of functionalities suitable for outdoor as well as indoor conditions.

[044] Fig. 2 illustrates a perspective view of face mask in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter.

[045] Fig. 3 illustrates different components of face mask in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. According to the Fig. 3 of the present invention, the full face mask comprises of a frame (1) with an air filter and vents that are snap-fit into place. It also comprises a visor (10), a sealing gasket (13) and fastening straps (12). The front air filter assembly on the front consist of a mounting ring (2), an air filter i.e. a circular piece of multi- layered fabric (3) that is secured into the mounting ring by means of a secondary ring (4) which snaps into the mounting ring (2). The mounting ring (2) snaps into the corresponding aperture (6) in the mask body. A silicon seal (5) helps make the contact between the mounting ring and the mask body air-tight. The upper air vent assembly consists of a ring (7) a circular piece of filter fabric (8) that is placed over this ring. This arrangement is then snapped into the aperture at the top of the mask (9). The visor (10) is secured to a corresponding rim on the inside of the mask (11). The straps (12) consists of two loops around the head and is secured to the mask through a pair of holes on each side (13). The Sealing gasket (13) sits on a corresponding rim in the mask body (14).

[046] The face mask provides a comfort-fit to the face with an anti-microbial foam gasket. All the critical components of the mask may be produced by the following processes:
thermoforming/ injection molding for the mask body and visor and 3D printing/ injection molding for the filter assemblies. Vents at the top of the face mask are consciously positioned to create air-flow across the forehead. The forehead is the part of the face especially susceptible to perspiration, hence when air is sucked through the nose a stream of air is created across the forehead by means of the vents in order to provide thermal comfort to the face without the need for any mechanical ventilation.

[047] The circular filters provided in the face mask enables maximum customization. Said face mask enables the use of a smart adaptor that may fit any type of air filter and also enables the use of a size adaptor that can help integrate the mask into other respiration/ life support systems like medical ventilators, positive pressure ventilation systems. The circular filters enables the fitment of smart modules on any of the circular filter openings that can hold fans for forced air- exchange and increased comfort, speakers and mic modules connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth to enable a medical worker to attend calls without touching the phone; attachment of specialized gas mask filters for use by police/ mine- worker; the mounting of module with light for night applications and use by police; the attachment of a smart bio-filter that uses UV light that automatically keeps the filter material sanitized at all times. The mask is designed with the vision-visor as a separate part that enables the option of making the mask body in a different material, thus increasing cost- effectiveness due to reduction in material wastage. Flat circular surfaces for filters so that the seal between filters and mask body completely restricts stray air exchange. The surfaces that hold the filters are designed in a way that they ‘’step-out’’ from the surface of the mask so that the filter assembly components that sit there do not brush against/ hurt the face. A rim of constant width makes it very easy to paste a gasket/ seal of uniform width to the mask- this makes assembly easy. The mask completely covers the face preventing reflex touching of eyes, nose mouth- especially important during respiratory/ airborne pandemics. The mask touches the face only at the edges-this makes it possible to talk without lips brushing against the mask unlike surgical or other cloth masks- where-in the lips are largely touching the cloth surface.

[048] Fig. 4 illustrates side view of face mask in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter.

It also provides various features to the users like bluetooth connectivity to the mobile. The smart adaptor provided in the face mask may fit on any type of air filter and also enables the use of a size adaptor that can help integrate the mask into other respiration/ life support systems like medical ventilators, positive pressure ventilation systems. A smart filter adaptor also enables integrating a variety of functionalities suitable for outdoor as well as indoor conditions.
