Abstract: The invention relates to a sealed chains associated with motorcycle chain and joint seal ring for end joining connecting link. The invention overcome the suffering of usage of two separate seal rings used in connecting link for end joining by substituting the same with a single spectacle type joint seal ring for end joining of connecting link. Figure 2.
Claims:A joint seal ring for end joining connecting link for motorcycle comprising of a pair of rings integrated into an unitary spectacle type seal ring. , Description:Field of Invention:
A spectacle type joint seal ring for end joining connecting link for motorcycle chain.
Background of invention:
Currently seal chains are used with endless condition in other country whereas in India, seal chains are used with connecting link for end joining considering the usage and chain maintenance purpose.
In chains with connecting link, two seal rings are separately used in connecting link for end joining where there is a possibility of missing during chain fitment and service at mechanic shop.
Object of invention:
In order to meet safety and performance requirements, the invention discloses an unique type of Joint Seal Rings through design based poke yoke type which is unique in Global scenario for motorcycle application.

Description of invention:
The spectacle type Joint Seal Ring for End Joining of connecting link to ensure Safety and Performance by eliminating the scenario of Seal ring missing is illustrated in figure 2, and figure 1 is illustration of prior art.
The benefits of this invention are:-
1. Prevents the possible scenario of missing of seal ring during Chain fitment & Service at mechanic shop.
2. The invention’s unique design ensures the presence of seal ring always in connecting link with maintaining the required dimensional aspects.
3. Enhanced Chain Performance as the probability of seal ring failure (damage & cut) and getting dislodged from chain connecting link is avoided and also the dimensional integrity is kept intact as per design ensuring the presence of seal ring.
4. Improved chain safety during transmission by ensuring the seal ring presence in the connecting link by maintaining the design aspects.
The advantages of this invention are:-
1. Chain with connecting link assembly with the invention’s proposed joint seal ring will facilitate the better maintenance of chain service for enhancing chain life.
2. The work practices while servicing at mechanic shop provides a poka yoke type of seal ring presence while handling the chain for better maintenance.
Endless type chain Vs connecting link type chain:
Endless Type Chain Connecting Link Type Chain
1.Servicing / Assembly of chains in endless condition in motorcycle is tedious and requires dismantling of entire swingarm or requires special knock out & joining tool
2. Endless type chain used sparingly in India by Honda & Yamaha. 1. Chains with connecting link can be easily serviced & assembled in vehicle by removing the connecting link and joining the same using basic tools which is being predominantly practiced in the service market of motorcycles.
2. Predominantly connecting link type chains are being used in motorcycle by Bajaj, Royal Enfield, TVS, Suzuki & Hero Motocorp and same is being serviced and maintained in the aftermarket in India.
The examples and embodiments are provided only for the purpose of understanding and none of them shall limit the scope of the invention. All variants and modifications as will be envisaged by skilled person are within the spirit and scope of the invention.
