Abstract: Accordingly it is a principle object of the present invention to overcome the disadvantages and limitations of prior art methods and systems and provide a method and system for unreserved ticket booking on public transport networks constituted in accordance with the principles of the present invention which will be a automated system and a method for facilitating passengers for unreserved ticket booking on public transport networks, where in the passenger used mobile communication device to obtain the travel ticket. The defined method and system may propose a ticketing solution that is universally useable, scalable and independent of new technology. It does not require any connectivity between the different parts of the system and uses minimum infrastructure that is cheaply maintained. It is language independent. It is extremely simple to understand and deploy, while being easy to use. Validation is done by the passengers, freeing the ticket collectors from time-consuming tasks and providing freedom from carrying any special devices. The system is portable for different means of travel and can be deployed anywhere in very little time. It truly benefits everyone.

BACKGROUND
A. Technical Field
The present invention relates to an automated method and system for unreserved ticket booking.
B. Background of the Invention
Generally, the most common professionally managed type of unreserved ticket bookings is paper based ticketing systems. These unreserved ticket booking systems requires a lot of manpower, physical resource and time thus results into congestion and operative delays at the booking centers.
Further more, the passengers end up travelling without a valid ticket because of the time and difficulty involved in purchasing a ticket, especially during peak hours. A more convenient ticketing solution is desired that is universally useable, scalable, easy to operate and independent of technology.
The passenger travelling on an unreserved ticket generally reaches the station just before the departure of the train. Therefore the ticketing system should be capable of ensuring that the passenger has generated the ticket
before departure and not en-route. Further, the system needs to ensure that the ticket collector should be able to verify the ticket speedily, typically through a custom application. Further, the system should ensure that the passenger should not be able to reuse the generated ticket and / or the passenger should not be able to forward the ticket to anyone else. Further, the system needs to be configured so as not to allow the passenger to purchase a ticket en-route for just a small segment of the actual journey undertaken. The system should be facilitated to be available as technology independent for e.g. when implemented through mobile the facility should be available even on low end phones and on almost all networks.
For the reasons stated above, which will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon reading and understanding the specification, there is a need in the art for an automated method and system for unreserved ticket booking that is universally useable, scalable and independent of new technology, language independent, uses minimum infrastructure that is easy and cost effectively maintained and is portable and can be deployed anywhere in very little time.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to facilitate individual passengers with automated unreserved ticket booking systems in such a way that they are allowed to obtained required travel ticket by self execution.
Another object of the present invention is to facilitate individual passengers automated unreserved ticketing system that is technology independent and also capable absolute validation of the travel even on demand check..
In accordance with this, there is provided a system and a method for facilitating passengers for unreserved ticket booking on public transport networks, where in the passenger used mobile communication device to obtain the travel ticket. The defined method and system may propose a ticketing solution that is universally useable, scalable and independent of new technology. It does not require any connectivity between the different parts of the system and uses minimum infrastructure that is cheaply maintained. It is language independent. It is extremely simple to understand and deploy, while being easy to use. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Considering the constraints and practicality of an automated method and system for unreserved ticket booking the solution may be a mobile based system, wherein the most efficient solution would have to be based over SMS. This provides the maximum penetration and ease of use.
The embodiments herein provide an automated method and system for unreserved ticket booking on public transport networks. Further the embodiments may be easily implemented in various unreserved booking structures for Hotel / Opera / Theater / Toll payment etc. The method of the invention may also be implemented as application performed by a stand alone or embedded system.
The invention described herein is explained using specific exemplary details for better understanding. However, the invention disclosed can be worked on by a person skilled in the art without the use of these specific
details.
References in the specification to " one embodiment" or " an embodiment" means that a particular feature, structure, characteristic, or function described in connection with the embodiment is included in at lest one embodiment of the invention. In one embodiment of the present invention the ITS-Mobile(lnstant Ticketing System on Mobile) system may comprise of a SMS enabled management module capable of receiving and forwarding SMS over the network; a Mobile Ticket Number module where in the unique mobile ticket number may be generated; Unique Identification Number generation module wherein the UIN is generated at the ITS-Mobile system; validation module which executes the validation of MTN based on UIN and the passenger information ; a communication management module responsible for wireless communication management through encoding; a operator integration and authentication module manages the registration and authentication of the network/wireless communication service providers; a billing module processes and generates the billing in interaction with the service provider billing system; ITS-Mobile Display module that can be
deployed on various entry points on the stations, a station code generation module generates the unique codes for identification of the stations; a location-base module capable of system administrator interaction for the over all administration, debugging and risk management.
In one another embodiment of the present invention the ITS-Mobile Display module of the system may be a simple system that shows the UIN. The display may be mounted at different entry points of every station. The display may have an internal clock that is synchronized with the ITS-Mobile system. The display may be programmed with the station code of the station where it may be deployed. All displays on a station may be programmed in synchronous to each other.
In one another embodiment of the present invention the validation module of the system may receive an SMS may be send to the ITS-Mobile system may be using the shortcode, may be to validate the UIN. The system may validate the UIN and may also uses the UIN to determine where the passenger is starting the journey from. If the UIN is not being displayed anywhere in the network, the system may return an error back to the passenger. Due to the nature of the system, the passenger may generate the ticket only at the commencement of the journey. This alleviates the need of having a process for validation of the generated ticket.
The method of instant ticketing on mobile may comprise steps of Generation of UIN at the display which is in synchronous to the UIN generation module at the ITS- Mobile System;
generating an SMS with the UIN shown on the ITS-Mobile display and the station code of the destination station and send it to a toll-free shortcode wherein the SMS may also contain the number of passengers and the class of travel;
Receiving the SMS at the ITS-Mobile system, along with the mobile number of the sender;
Generating the Mobile Ticket Number (MTN) using a unique algorithm and may forward it as a reply to the passenger where as the MTN may provide the valid authority to travel. The passenger may retain the SMS till the end of the journey;
On demand validation of the MTN;
Billing of the MTN;
The method of instant ticketing on mobile wherein the passenger may see the ITS-Mobile display, which may show a Unique Identification Number (UIN). The UIN may be a multi-digit number that may be unique across the entire system at any time.
The method of instant ticketing on mobile wherein the passenger may also see a board that may list station names and the station code. The existing station codes may be reused or may be for simplicity and language independence, this system may use modified station codes.

If either of the checks may return a negative, it may reply back with an error. The MTN generated may also depends on the mobile number of the passenger, it may ensure that the MTN may not be forwarded to some other mobile. The MTN generated may also depend on the UIN, it may ensure that it may not be reused by the passenger for a future journey. A valid reply from the system in response to a MTN check may also contain the validity of the travel period. The ticket collector may use that to determine whether the passenger holds a valid ticket or not.
The method of instant ticketing on mobile wherein if the passenger may not have mobile coverage, the ticket collector may send an SMS from his/her mobile to another shortcode with the MTN and the mobile number of the passenger to perform the validation.
The method of instant ticketing on mobile where in once a passenger receives a MTN, it is sufficient proof for validity of travel.
Since the onus on validating the ticket is on the passenger, the ticket collector neither requires any equipment nor spends his time for the same. This allows the ticket collector to check the same volume of tickets as in a paper ticket system. As usage of this system grows, passengers will have this check done and ready to show to a ticket collector at the time of
disembarking, thereby ensuring minimum waste of their own time. Since the shortcode is toll-free, passengers are not spending any money for these SMSes that are sent.
The method of instant ticketing on mobile wherein purchasing a ticket may automatically debit the passenger's mobile account, whether prepaid or postpaid.
The method of instant ticketing on mobile wherein the ITS-Mobile system may use an authorize and capture routine to debit the passenger's account.

Fig. 1 is the block diagram of the system for unreserved ticket booking on public transport networks as per one embodiment wherein The system for automated (unreserved) ticket booking on mobile communication device , an ITS- Mobile system .comprising of an ITS display Module to display the active Unique Identification Number(UIN) and passive list of station codes and a central base station Module for generation, validation and synchronous operation management of the system, wherein said ITS display Module is comprising of a Unique Identification Number generation module(UINGM) for generation of UIN; a Communication module to set communication link with the central base station and synchronize and
control communication over the link and within the display system; a Station code generation module to generate the code list of all the stations on the route and Display Control logic. The system further comprise of Central Base Station Module for, which is comprising a SMS enable management module(SMSEMM) for receive/transmit and /or coding /decoding SMS; a Communication Management Module(CMM)for managing communication; an Operator Authorization and Integration Module(OAIM) for establishing secured communication link; a Mobile ticket number module (MTNM) for generating a MTN in accordance with the decoded start point and end point coordinates; an UIN generation and decoding module (UINGDM) for generation and decoding the UIN; a Station code generation and decoding module (SCGDM) for generation and decoding of the Station code; a Billing Module(BM)for generating data inputs to be forwarded for billing to the operator service provider; a Verification Module (VM) for validating the MTN upon receiving validation request; a Location Base Module(LBM)for administrating the system operations, debugging, and risk management. The Communication Management Module optionally sets communication between ITS display module and the Central base Station module as these two module can function in absolute independence and still attends the required absolute functionality The user interacts with the system through mobile communication device. The mobile communication device can be mobile phone, PDA, tablet PC or any other portable communication device capable of communicating through the short messages communication such as SMS.
As per preferred embodiment of the present invention of the system the preferred mobile communication device is mobile phone capable of communicating through the short messages communication such as SMS.

As per one of the preferred embodiment of the present invention the defined method and system may propose a ticketing solution that is universally useable, scalable and independent of new technology. It does not require any connectivity between the different parts of the system and uses minimum infrastructure that is cheaply maintained. It is language independent, since it requires passengers to input only 2 numbers. It is extremely simple to understand and deploy, while being easy to use. Validation is done by the passengers, freeing the ticket collectors from time-consuming tasks and providing freedom from carrying any special devices. The system is portable for different means of travel and can be deployed anywhere in very little time. It truly benefits everyone.
WE CLAIM
1. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device, an ITS- Mobile system .comprising an ITS display Module to display the active Unique Identification Number(UIN) and passive list of station codes, a central base station Module for generation, validation and synchronous operation management of the system and a mobile communication device used by user to set the inputs,
wherein said ITS display Module comprises:
a Unique Identification Number generation module(UINGM) for generation of UIN;
a Communication module to set communication link with the central base station and synchronize and control communication over the link and within the display system;
a Station code generation module to generate the code list of all the stations on the route;
Display Control logic;
wherein said Central Base Station Module for, the Central Base Station Module comprises:
a SMS enable management module(SMSEMM) for receive/transmit and /or coding /decoding SMS;
a Communication Management Module(CMM)for managing
communication;
an Operator Authorization and Integration Module(OAIM) for establishing secured communication link;
a Mobile ticket number module (MTNM) for generating a MTN in accordance with the decoded start point and end point coordinates;
an UIN generation and decoding module (UINGDM) for generation and decoding the UIN;
a Station code generation and decoding module (SCGDM) for generation and decoding of the Station code;
a Billing Module(BM)for generating data inputs to be forwarded for billing to the operator service provider;
a Verification Module (VM) for validating the MTN upon receiving validation request;
a Location Base Module(LBM)for administrating the system operations, debugging, and risk management;
wherein said mobile communication device is capable of communicating through the short messages communication such as SMS.

The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said ITS display Module has Unique Identification Number generation module for generating unique identification number (UIN) actively, which is periodic in nature with predefined time interval.

The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said ITS display Module has Unique Identification Number generation module for generating identification number actively, which is periodic in nature with predefined time interval, where period can be predefined or se by the system administrating logic.
4. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said ITS display Module has Communication module for setting communication link with the central base station to synchronize the UIN generation module at the ITS display module to that of the UIN generation and decoding module at the central base station.
5. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said ITS display Module has Station code generation module for generating station code to be used as destination code for all the stations on the route .
6. The Station code generation module as claimed in claim 1 and calim 5 generate station codes for all the stations on the route , where in these station codes are static in nature.
7. The Station code generation module as claimed in claim 1 and calim 5 generate station codes for all the stations on the route , where in these station codes are forms the destination station code.
8. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said ITS display Module has Display Control logic to display controllably the UIN generated by the UIN module.
9. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said ITS display Module has Display Control logic to display controllably the static list of the station codes generated by the station code generation module.
10. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has SMS enable management module for receiving SMS through controlled communication link.
11 .The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has SMS enable management module for decoding the SMS and communicate the decoded data to MTNM and /or VM.
12.The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has SMS enable management module for receiving data from MTNM and /or VM and instructions from CMM and composing SMS using the same to forward it the user device.
13. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication deviceaccording to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Communication Management Module to control and manage communication over the communication link to provide secure and controlled communication link.
14. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Operator Authorization and Integration Module for authenticating and Integrating the operator to achieve inter-operatability between the system and various telecommunication network service providers to provide secured link for communication.
15. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Mobile ticket number module to generate Mobile ticket Number(MTN) in accordance with decoded start point and end point coordinates.
16. The Mobile ticket number module as claimed in Claim 1 and Claim 15 fetches the start point coordinates from UINGD module by forwarding the received UIN to the UINGD module at the Central Base Station.
17.The Mobile ticket number module as claimed in Claim 1 and Claim 15 fetches the end point coordinates from SCGD module by forwarding the received station code to the SCGD module at the Central Base Station.

The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has UIN generation and decoding module for generating the UIN in synchronous to the UIN generated at the ITS display module and decodes the received UIN to retrieve the starting point coordinates.

The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Station code generation and decoding module for generating the static list of station codes in synchronous to the station codes generated at the ITS display module and decodes the received station code to retrieve the destination i.e. end point coordinates.

The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Billing Module for generating data input dependent on the coordinate details used to generate MTN by the MTN module where in the generated data is to be forwarded for billing to the operator/ service provider
21.The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Verification Module for validating the MTN by fetching reference values from the MTNM & forwarding the details respective to the MTN and validation report to SMSEMM for forwarding to the passenger
22. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Location Base Module for administrating the system operations, debugging and risk management.
23. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Location Base Module for default restore.
24. The system for automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device according to claim 1, wherein said Central Base Station Module has Location Base Module for Asynchronous reset/ Synchronous reset activation and management.
25.The Location Base Module as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Location Base Module has synchronization logic for synchronizing all the intra system modules.
26. The mobile communication device as claimed in claim 1, where in the device can be mobile phone, PDA, tablet PC or any other portable communication
device capable of communicating through the short messages communication such as SMS.
27. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device comprise steps of:
Generation of UIN at the display which is in synchronous to the UIN generation module at the ITS- Mobile System;
Composing an SMS with the UIN shown on the ITS-Mobile display and the station code of the destination station and send it to a toll-free shortcode wherein the SMS also contains the passenger details such as number of passengers and the class of travel;
Receiving the SMS at the ITS-Mobile system, along with the mobile number of the sender;
Generating the Mobile Ticket Number (MTN) using a unique algorithm and forward it as a reply to the passenger where as the MTN provide the valid authority to travel. The passenger retain the SMS till the end of the journey;
On demand validation of the MTN;
Billing of the MTN;
28. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein the passenger see the ITS-Mobile display,
which show a Unique Identification Number (UIN). The UIN is a multi-digit
number that is unique across the entire system at any time.
29. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein the passenger also see a board that list
station names and the station code. The existing station codes may be reused
or for simplicity and language independence, this system use modified station
codes.
30. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein the passenger compose an SMS with the U!N shown on the ITS-Mobile display and the station code of the destination station and send it to a toll-free shortcode, wherein the SMS also contain passenger details i.e. the number of passengers and the class of travel.
31. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein the shortcode delivers the SMS to the central base station of the ITS-Mobile system, along with the mobile number of the sender.
32. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein the system generate a Mobile Ticket Number (MTN) and send it as a reply to the passenger.
33. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein the MTN provide the valid authority to travel.
34. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein the passenger retains the SMS till the end of the journey.
35. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein when asked for the ticket en-route, the passenger forwards the SMS containing MTN and /or validation request code back to the shortcode.
36.The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein the ITS-Mobile system validates the MTN along with the mobile number and returns an SMS that contain the time of commencement of journey, the validity till time and the destination station.
37. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein The passenger show this SMS to the ticket collector, who verifies it and let the passenger pass.
38.The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein the display generates a multi-digit number called the Unique Identification Number (UIN) periodically.
39. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein displays across stations have different station codes and they display different UlNs.
40. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein at any time, the UIN flashed on a display be unique across the entire network.
41 .The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein the UIN shall not be repeated in the near future so as to allow tickets to expire with sufficient time.
42. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein when a passenger forward the MTN to the
ITS-Mobile system for validation, the system check if the MTN had been
issued in the near past, to the mobile number from where the SMS has come.
If either of the checks return a negative, it shall reply back with an error. The
MTN generated also depend on the mobile number of the passenger, it
ensure that the MTN shall not be forwarded to some other mobile. The MTN
generated also depend on the UIN, it ensures that it shall not be reused by
the passenger for a future journey. A valid reply from the system in response
to a MTN check also contain the validity of the travel period. The ticket
collector use that to determine whether the passenger holds a valid ticket or
not.
43. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein if the passenger do not have mobile coverage,
the ticket coUector sends an SMS from his/her mobile to another shortcode
with the MTN and the mobile number of the passenger to perform the
validation.
44.The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device where in once a passenger receives a MTN, it is sufficient proof for validity of travel.
45.The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile
communication device wherein purchasing a ticket is automatically debit the passenger's mobile account, whether prepaid or postpaid.
46. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein the ITS-Mobile system use an authorize and capture routine to debit the passenger's account.
47. The method of automated unreserved ticket booking on mobile communication device wherein for billing the first call is an authorize call on the mobile operator to check and block funds in the passengers account; the second call is a capture call to perform the actual debit, provided the authorize call has succeeded.
