“A Method And System For Maximizing Utilization Of Memory Bus Bandwidth”
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of maximizing utilization of memory bus bandwidth, comprising the steps of: receiving a plurality of read and write commands; storing the read commands in a read command queue (RCQ) and storing the write commands in a write command queue (WCQ); scheduling and reordering the read commands thus stored in the RCQ and/or the write commands thus stored in the WCQ; and cyclically accessing at least one write command thus contained in the WCQ and at least one read command thus contained in the RCQ; wherein in step (c) scheduling and reordering is performed so as to: (i) prioritize issuance of successive commands on different banks of the memory; and (ii) prioritize issuance of successive commands to a same row of a particular bank of the memory; .....
