A Method For Determination Of Real Time Arc Stability In Gmaw Process

Abstract: The present invention provides a real time quantitative method for determination of Arc Stability during GMAW process. It is one of the important usability characteristics that is considered for process quality and evaluation. Welding characterisation is difficult due to highly nonlinear response characteristics of process parameters which is dependent upon multiple interdependent factors dynamically linked with operating conditions. Hence, a reliable quantitative indicator for arc stability has been the subject of exploration based on statistical methods and tools. Feeding the arc voltage and arc current in the welding process signal, low pass filter is applied. In the present disclosure, a frequency domain approach is being considered for evaluation and results are evaluated. The stable arc is allowed for welding process, wherein arcs, not stable, are undergone necessary corrections before allowing for welding process.
