Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of imparting even flow distribution in an improved electrostatic precipitator (ESP), the method comprising the steps of: placing/fixing at least one hexagonal shape profile gas distribution (GD) screens (1) (2), each at the inlet (3) and outlet (4) of the ESP funnel, wherein flue gas flow from APH (Air Pre-Heater) outlet and then enters into ESP chamber through inlet of ESP inlet funnel; performing uniformity and even distribution of flue gas inside the ESP chamber after collection of ash particles by filtering that is achieved by taking/applying necessary arrangement/configuration in the inlet (3) and outlet (4) gas distribution screens. Moreover, the present invention is further disclose the improved ESP which is capable of uniform and even distribution of flue gas, that is achieved by applying necessary configuration in the inlet (3) and outlet (4) gas distribution screens.
