FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to the field of method of multifunctional activated
carbon bricks, in particular types of carbon brick (activated carbon brick, anti-bacterial brick,
15 anti-oxidant brick, ethylene absorber brick, and cross-functional brick).

BACKGROUND

The background description includes information that is useful in understanding
the present invention.
20 [0003] Bad smells and odor coming from the refrigerators is one of the foremost
problems that have triggered various steps for eliminating bad odors. There is additionally, a
growth of mold and bacterial colonies from biological deposits on the surfaces of
refrigerators. These funky odors are usually produced from the molecules of the spoiled foods
and bits that are decomposed as a result of microbial activity. These molecules mix with the
25 internal air of the refrigerator and present a foul smell each time the door is opened.
[0004] Moreover, when the door is opened due to the turbulence of air the microbes
attached to the wall shelve floor is dropped onto the stored foods. This all leads to the
contamination of fresh food also if kept for long or during electricity failures for long hours
the food starts to decay and produces foul smell. In addition to this, the smells from certain
30 food items penetrate into the other food items due to which integrity of the particular food
item lost and it also loses in taste.
[0005] Many steps have been taken to eliminate these odors such as cleaning the insides
of refrigerator with detergent, bleaching chemicals, using deodorants or storing coffee, oats
or baking soda to capture odor molecules. In addition, other odor masking products such as
35 vinegar, lemon, coffee, air fresheners and perfumes leave behind their own fragrance when
used for reducing the foul odors. However, these methods have shown their ineffectiveness to
efficiently remove odors. Recently activated carbon has been used to eliminate odors from
refrigerators. The activated carbon has large surface area for catching elements of bad odor,
absorbs ammonia and VOCs. Activated carbon has been in use since long in odor elimination
40 from refrigerators and kitchen appliances and utilized in the form of granules, pellets,
Page 2 of 9
5 capsules, cartridges and bricks. The present invention is intended to remove bad odors, freeradicals
and microbial outgrowth from the refrigerators with other additional features.
