A Mounting Assembly Of An Accelerator Pedal Module (Apm)

Abstract: A mounting assembly of the APM 110 to the bearing pedestal 108 in the vehicle is provided. The APM 110 comprises the sensor housing 104, characterized by, a first profile in the sensor housing 104 and a second profile in the bearing pedestal 108. The APM 110 is mounted to the bearing pedestal 108 with an engagement between the first profile and the second profile. The engagement is secured through a fastener 106. The fastener 106 is any one of a screw or a bolt or the like. Different assemblies are provided to lock the sensor housing 104 and the bearing pedestal 108 to avoid tilting or shifting. Thus, the APM 110 is does not malfunction.

Claims:1. A mounting assembly of an Accelerator Pedal Module (APM) (110) to a
bearing pedestal (108) in a vehicle, said APM (110) comprises a sensor
housing (104), characterized by,
a first profile in said sensor housing (104) and a 5 second profile in
said bearing pedestal (108), said APM (110) mounted to said bearing
pedestal (108) with an engagement between said first profile and
said second profile, and
said engagement is secured through a fastener (106).

2. The mounting assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of said first
profile and said second profile comprises a first cavity (204) and a second
cavity (206) with a first teeth (208) and a second teeth (212) respectively,
said teeth of said first profile and said second profile are held in meshing
15 engagement with each other.
3. The mounting assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first profile and
said second profile comprises a first cavity (204) and a second cavity (206)
with a first teeth (208) and a second teeth (212) respectively, and a flexible
20 member (202) there between, said engagement comprises said teeth
clamping on to said flexible member (202).
4. The mounting assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first profile
comprises a first cavity (204) with slots and said second profile comprises
25 a second cavity (206) with pins, said engagement comprises insertion of
pins into said slots.
5. The mounting assembly as claimed in claim 4, wherein a flexible member
(202) is positioned there between.
6. The mounting assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first profile
comprises a first cavity (204) of dimension lesser than that of a second
cavity (206) in said second profile.
7. The mounting assembly as claimed in claim 5, wherein 5 a flexible member
(202) is over-molded on a pin (306), and said pin (306) positioned in said
first cavity (204) and said second cavity (206) followed by tightening of said
fastener (106). , Description:A mounting assembly of the APM 110 to the bearing pedestal 108 in the vehicle is
provided. The APM 110 comprises the sensor housing 104, characterized by, a first
profile in the sensor housing 104 and a second profile in the bearing pedestal 108.
The APM 110 is mounted to the bearing pedestal 108 with an engagement between
the first profile and the second profile. The engagement is secured through a
fastener 106. The fastener 106 is any one of a screw or a bolt or the like. Different
assemblies are provided to lock the sensor housing 104 and the bearing pedestal
108 to avoid tilting or shifting. Thus, the APM 110 is does not malfunction.
