A process for the preparation of once a day orally administered pharmaceuticalcomposition, wherein the unit dosage form is prepared by following steps :i) preparing proton pump inhibitor part using the steps:a) by drug layering process on seeds to form core OR preparing granules comprising drug and compressing granules into core tablets;b) providing a barrier coat over the core from step (a);c) providing enteric coat over the barrier coated core from step (b) to form pellets/tablets;ii) preparing prokinetic agent part using the steps:(d) by drug layering process on seeds to form core;(e) providing coating of rate controlling membrane over the core from step d; OR(f) preparing granules comprising drug and release retarding materials);(g) compressing granules prepared in step (f) in to matrix tablets; OR(h) preparing sustained release granules comprising drug and releaseretarding material(s); (i) preparing fast release granules comprising drug and pharmaceuticallyacceptable excipients; f) Compressing of granules prepared in step (h) and (I) in to bilayeredtablets; iii] combining the proton pump inhibitor part obtained from step-1 with prokinetic agent part obtained from step-2 to form a unit dosage form.
