A Process For Preparing Solid Dosage Forms For Extended Release Of Biguanide And Sulfonylurea

Abstract: The present invention relates to a solid dosage form for the combination of biguanide and sulfonylurea wherein the dosage form provides extended-release of biguanide as well as of sulfonylurea. Particularly the invntion relates to a layered tablet for the combination of highly water-soluble, high dose metformin and water-insoluble, low-dose glipizide wherein the tablet provides extended release of both metformin and glipizide.
