Abstract: The present invention provides a storage assembly 100 for storing articles inside a vehicle interior. The storage assembly 100 is configured with a housing 200, a first storage compartment 110 and a second storage compartment 120. The first storage compartment 100 is arranged partially in/on the housing 200. The second storage compartment 120 is arranged in the housing 200 and having a portion arranged below the first storage compartment 110. A lid 130 is arranged for opening and closing a gap 135 between the first storage compartment 110 and the housing 200 for accessing and covering the second storage compartment 120. The first storage compartment 110 is for storing essential articles like mobile phone, wallet and the second storage compartment 120 is for storing waste. The first storage compartment 110 and the second storage compartment 120 is accessible from the first row and a second row passengers. Figure 1
Claims:We Claim:
1. A storage assembly 100 for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, the storage assembly 100 comprising:
a housing 200;
a first storage compartment 110 arranged partially in/on the housing 200,
a second storage compartment 120 arranged in the housing 200 and having a portion arranged below the first storage compartment 110,
wherein a lid 130 is arranged for opening and closing a gap 135 between the first storage compartment 110 and the housing 200 for accessing and covering the second storage compartment 120.
2. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the housing 200 is a hollow enclosure confined by three side wall sections 10, 20, 30 and a top wall section 40.

The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the first storage compartment 110 is slidable in/on the housing 200 facilitating formation of an opening 140 on a top surface of the top wall section 40 of the housing 200 to access the second storage compartment 120 therethrough the opening 140.
4. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein a track/rail 250 is provided in/on the housing 200 such that the first storage compartment 110 slides on the track/rail 250.
5. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the second storage compartment 120 is accessible by a first row passengers from the gap 135 and by a second row passengers by the opening 140 of the housing 200.
6. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the second storage compartment 120 is a garbage bin.
7. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the housing 200 along with the first storage compartment 110 is pivotable on a pivot axis 205 arranged perpendicular to the side wall 10 of the housing 200.
8. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the lid 130 is provided with a biasing member for biasing the lid 130 towards the first storage compartment 110 in absence of external force.
9. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the lid 130 is a pivotable flap.
10. The storage assembly 100 as claimed in the claim 1, wherein the second storage compartment 120 is detachable from the storage assembly 100.
, Description:Field of the Invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a storage assembly. More particularly, the present invention relates to a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior.
Background of the Invention
[0002] Generally, passengers travelling in a vehicle, like a car may require a storage compartment for keeping their articles, such as a mobile phone, wallet, water bottle, tissue paper, waste and the like. Presently, the vehicles are provided with the first storage compartment in the console of the vehicle that is accessible to the passengers seating in the front seats only. The passenger seats on rear seats have limited access to the first storage compartment for keeping their articles.
[0003] To overcome the above-mentioned problem, few attempts have been made, where the vehicle is provided with a separate storage compartment for storing waste, but the provided storage compartment is very small in size. Also, the provided storage compartment is in the front portion of the vehicle, which is only accessible to a front row passengers only and not to the rear row passenger.
[0004] Therefore, there is a need to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside the vehicle interior, which overcomes few or all drawbacks of the prior art.
Objects of the Invention
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior.
[0006] One more object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, which is provided with a first storage compartment for storing essential articles, such as mobile phone, wallet and the like and a second storage compartment for storing waste for discarding.
[0007] Further object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, which is having provisions for accessing the first storage compartment and the second storage compartment by front row passengers as well as by rear row passengers seating inside the vehicle.
[0008] Furthermore object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, which is having provision for discarding the collected waste from the second storage compartment.
[0009] Yet one more object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, which is having enough space in the second storage compartment for storing enough waste.
[0010] Still one object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, which is compact and easy to use.
[0011] One more object of the present invention is to provide a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior, which economical and robust in constructions.
Summary of the Invention
[0012] According to the present invention, there is provided with a storage assembly for storing articles inside a vehicle interior. The storage assembly may have a first storage compartment, a second storage compartment and a housing. The housing may be pivotally arranged in the vehicle interior through a pivotal pin. The housing may be a hollow enclosure confined by three side wall sections and a top wall section. Further, the first storage compartment may be arranged partially in/on the housing. The first storage compartment can be used for storing articles, such as a mobile phone, wallet and the like. A cover may be arranged on the first storage compartment, which is provided with cushion and padding for supporting an arm of the passenger.
[0013] Further, the second storage compartment may be arranged in the housing between the walls and having a portion arranged below the first storage compartment. The second storage compartment is a garbage bin or a receptacle. The second storage compartment can be used for storing waste inside the vehicle interior, which can be discarded later. Further, the storage assembly is having a gap. The gap may be configured between the first storage compartment and the housing for accessing the second storage compartment by passengers for keeping their waste therein. The second storage compartment is accessible by a first row passengers as well as by a second row passenger.
[0014] Further, the gap may be provided with a lid. The lid may be arranged on the walls of the housing, which slide to access the second storage compartment. The lid may be arranged for opening and closing the gap to provide access to the second storage compartment by first row passengers. The gap can be close by manually holding and sliding the lid through an operating arrangement. The operating arrangement may be a groove configured on the lid to open and close the gap. The lid may be pivotable flap, provided with a biasing member like a compression spring for biasing the lid towards the first storage compartment in the absence of external force.
[0015] ¬¬Further, the first storage compartment along with the lid can be slide in/on the housing by sliding the first storage compartment, facilitating formation of an on a top surface of the top wall section of the housing, thereby providing access to the second storage compartment for keeping waste therein. Specifically, a track/rail is provided in/on the housing such that the first storage compartment slides on the track/rail. An opening may be created to allow access to the second storage compartment by a second row passengers.
[0016] Further, the housing, along with the first storage compartment, maybe pivotable on a pivot axis arranged perpendicular to the side wall of the housing. Specifically, the second storage compartment is detachable from the storage assembly. The housing is lifted to access and remove the second storage compartment for removing and discarding collected waste from the second storage compartment and can be placed therein after emptying. Further, the second storage compartment may be provided with an operating member for holding and removing the second storage compartment out of the housing for emptying the second storage compartment and placing therein thereafter.

[0027] Referring now to figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, various views of a storage assembly100 for storing articles inside a vehicle interior in accordance with the present invention are illustrated. The storage assembly 100 is provided with a first storage compartment 110, a second storage compartment 120 and a housing 200. The housing 200 is placed on an interior panel 50 of the vehicle, as shown in figure 1. Specifically, the housing 200 is a hollow enclosure confined by three side wall section 10, 20, 30 and a top wall section 40, as shown in figures 1 and 5. In the present embodiment, the housing 200 is pivotally arranged in the vehicle interior through a pivotal pin 205, as shown in figure 2.
[0028] Further, the first storage compartment 110 is arranged partially in/on the housing 200. The first storage compartment 110 is provided for storing articles such as mobile phone, wallet, tissue papers and the like. The first storage compartment 110 is slidable in/on a track/rail 250. The track/rail 250 is provided in/on the housing 200. Specifically, the track/rail 250 is mounted and guided on the walls 10 and 20 of the housing 200 for sliding thereon. The first storage compartment 110 may be provided with guiding channels on both sides for engaging with the track/rail 250.
[0029] Also, the storage assembly 100 is provided with a cover 112 for closing and opening the first storage compartment 110. In the present embodiment, the cover 112 is provided with cushion and padding for supporting an arm of the passenger, which works as an armrest. The cover 112 is hingably configured on the first storage compartment 110. In the present embodiment, the first storage compartment 110 is accessible by flapping the cover 112 upwards. It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to access the first storage compartment 110 by sliding or removing the cover 112. Specifically, the first storage compartment 110 is accessible to a first row passengers for keeping their articles such as mobile phone, watch and the like.
[0030] Further, the present invention has the second storage compartment 120, which is arranged between the walls 10, 20, 30, and interior panel of the vehicle. A portion of the second storage compartment 120 is arranged below the first storage compartment 110. Specifically, the second storage compartment 120 is arranged below the first storage compartment 110 and on the interior panel 50 of the vehicle interior, as shown in the figure 1. In the present embodiment, the second storage compartment120 is a receptacle or a garbage bin. The second storage compartment 120 is provided for collecting articles, such as tissue paper, wrapper, wastes and the like of passengers in the vehicle. Further, the second storage compartment 120 is accessible by a first row passengers as well as by the second row passenger. In the present embodiment, the second storage compartment 120 is detachably placed in the housing 200. It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to fix the second storage compartment 120 on the interior panel 50.
[0031] Referring now to figures 2, 3 and 5, the storage assembly 100 is having a gap 135 maintained between the first storage compartment 110 and the housing 200. The gap 135 is provided to access the second storage compartment 120 by a first row passengers for keeping articles. Further, a lid 130 is arranged for opening and closing the gap 135. Upon, sliding the lid 130 on the housing walls 10 and 20 towards the vehicle interior, the gap 135 is opened. In the present embodiment, the lid 130 is a pivotable flap. Especially, the lid 130 is provided for accessing and covering the second storage compartment 120. Specifically, the gap 135 is configured in a front portion “A" of the top wall section 40 and allow access to the second storage compartment 120 to the first row passengers, as shown in figures 2, 3 and 6.
[0032] Further, the lid 130 is provided with a biasing member (not shown) like a compression spring. The biasing member is provided for biasing the lid 130 towards the first storage compartment 110 in the absence of external force. It may be obvious to use any other means to biases the lid 130. Further, the lid 130 is having an operating arrangement 132. The operating arrangement 132 is a groove created in the lid 130 for manually holding and sliding the lid 130 to open and close the gap 135.
[0033] ¬¬Referring now to figures 4 and 5, the first storage compartment 110 along with the lid 130 can be slide towards the vehicle interior. Upon sliding the first storage compartment 110, an opening 140 is created on the top wall section 40 of the housing 200. Specifically, the opening 140 forms between the first storage compartment 110 and the housing. Specifically, the first storage compartment 110 is slidable in/on the housing 200 facilitating formation of the opening 140 on the top surface of the top wall section 40 of the housing 200. The opening 140 is for accessing the second storage compartment 120 by a second row passenger. More specifically, the opening 140 is created in a rear portion “B” of the top wall section 40 between the walls 10, 20 and 30. Through the opening 140, the second row passengers can access the second storage compartment 120 to dump their waste therein. The opening 140 can be closed manually by holding and sliding the first storage compartment 110 toward the back portion “B”. Specifically, when the first storage compartment 110 is pushed toward the rear portion “B”, the lid 130 slides along with the first storage compartment 110 keeping the opening 140 and the gap 135 closed.
[0034] Further, the second storage compartment 120 can be removed from the housing 200 for emptying the second storage compartment 120 and can be placed therein after cleaning. The housing 200 along with the first storage compartment 110 is pivotable on a pivot axis 205. The pivotal axis 205 is arranged perpendicular to the side wall 10 of the housing 200. Specifically, the housing 200 is pivotally lifted upwards to access the second storage compartment 120 for removing and discarding collected waste from the second storage compartment 120, as shown in the figure 6. More specifically, the housing 200 along with the first storage compartment 110 is pivotally lifted around the pivotal pin 205. Further, the second storage compartment 120 is provided with a holding arrangement 122, as shown in figure 1. The holding arrangement 122 is provided for holding and pulling the second storage compartment 120 outside the housing 200 for emptying purpose and placed therein thereafter. In the present embodiment, the holding arrangement 122 is a cavity configured on a distal end of the second storage compartment 120, which can be used to engage fingers to slide and lift the second storage compartment 120.
[0035] Therefore, the present invention has an advantage of providing a storage assembly 100 for storing articles inside a vehicle interior. The storage assembly 100 is provided with a storage compartment for storing essential articles, such as mobile phone, wallet and the like and a receptacle for storing waste for discarding. Also, the storage assembly 100 is having provisions for accessing the first storage compartment and the second storage compartment by the front row passengers as well as by the rear row passengers seating inside the vehicle. Further, the storage assembly 100 is having provision for discarding the collected waste from the second storage compartment. The second storage compartment of the storage assembly 100 is is having enough space for storing enough waste. The storage assembly 100 is compact and easy to use. Also, the storage assembly 100 is economical and robust in constructions.
