Abstract: A system, method and controller for rail replacement count detection and false Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV) error elimination. The system (100) comprising a controller (110), a PLV (122) assembled on the rail (120) 5 of the vehicle and a rail pressure sensor (124) and a temperature sensor (126) equipped on the rail (120) of the vehicle, characterized in that, the controller (110) adapted to determine opening of the PLV (122) based on pressure measured inside the rail (120) by the rail pressure sensor (124) and temperature of fuel measured 10 inside the rail (120) by the temperature sensor (126), record the rail (120) replacement count when the determination results in opening of the PLV (122) for discharge.
Claims:1. A system (100) for detecting a rail (120) replacement count in a vehicle,
said system (100) comprising a controller (110), a Pressure Limiting
Valve (PLV) (122) assembled on said rail (120) of 5 said vehicle and a
rail pressure sensor (124) and a temperature sensor (126) equipped on
said rail (120) of said vehicle, characterized in that,
said controller (110) adapted to:
? determine opening of said PLV (122) based on pressure measured
10 inside said rail (120) by said rail pressure sensor (124) and
temperature of fuel measured inside said rail (120) by said
temperature sensor (126);
? record said rail (120) replacement count when the determination
results in opening of said PLV (122) for discharge.
2. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110)
configured with a pre-determined rated pressure for said rail (120) in
said vehicle.
3. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110)
configured with a predetermined threshold temperature value for fuel in
20 said rail (120) of said vehicle.
4. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said controller (110) capable
of determining opening of said PLV (122) when the pressure measured
inside said rail (120) by said rail pressure sensor (124) exceeds the predetermined
rated pressure for said rail (120) in said vehicle and the
25 temperature of fuel measured inside said rail (120) by said temperature
sensor (126) exceeds ambient temperature by the predetermined
threshold temperature value for fuel in said rail (120) of said vehicle.
5. A method for detecting a rail (120) replacement count in a vehicle, said
vehicle comprising at least a rail pressure sensor (124), a temperature
sensor (126), a controller (110) and a Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV)
(122),
said method comprising 5 the steps of:
? receiving, by said controller (110), pressure in said rail (120) from
said rail pressure sensor (124);
? receiving, by said controller (110), temperature of fuel in said rail
(120) from said temperature sensor (126);
10 ? determining, by said controller (110), opening of said PLV (122)
based on received pressure and temperature values;
? recording, by said controller (110), said rail (120) replacement count
when the determination results in opening of said PLV (122) for
discharge.
6. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said controller (110)
configured with a pre-determined rated pressure for said rail (120) in
said vehicle.
7. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said controller (110)
configured with a predetermined threshold temperature value for fuel in
20 said rail (120) of said vehicle.
8. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said controller (110) capable
of determining opening of said PLV (122) when the pressure measured
inside said rail (120) by said rail pressure sensor (124) exceeds the predetermined
rated pressure for said rail (120) in said vehicle and the
25 temperature of fuel measured inside said rail (120) by said temperature
sensor (126) exceeds ambient temperature by the predetermined
threshold temperature value for fuel in said rail (120) of said vehicle.
9. A controller (110) to detect a rail (120) replacement count in a vehicle,
said vehicle comprising at least a rail pressure sensor (124), a
temperature sensor (126) and a Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV) (122),
said controller 5 (110) adapted to:
? receive pressure in said rail (120) from said rail pressure sensor
(124);
? receive temperature of fuel in said rail (120) from said temperature
sensor (126);
10 ? determine opening of said PLV (122) based on received pressure
and temperature values;
? record said rail (120) replacement count when the determination
results in opening of said PLV (122) for discharge.
10. The controller as claimed in claim 9, capable of determining opening of
said PLV (122) when the pressure measured inside said rail (120) by
said rail pressure sensor (124) exceeds a pre-determined rated
pressure for said rail (120) in said vehicle and the temperature of fuel
measured inside said rail (120) by said temperature sensor (126)
20 exceeds ambient temperature by a predetermined threshold
