Abstract: The present invention relates to a tool attachment device for small diameter tool of different varieties and sizes adaptable to horizontal boring machine comprises a step down cylindrical body (1) having a hexagonal member (2) at the top the step down cylindrical body comprises one larger diameter-adjusting collar (3) at top and a smaller diameter threaded part (4) at the bottom and a central part (5) having a mean diameter of the two and characterized the threaded part holds the tool with the help of adopter and hexagonal side is used to give rotation for tightening the device into small tooling.
FILED OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a tool attachment device for small
diameter tool of different verities and sizes adaptable to horizontal
boring machine.
BRACKGROUND OF INVENTION
The industries engaged in manufacturing steam turbine and
generator, large size gas turbines and also large size motor for
power plants, steel rolling, and other industrial applications are
required to under go various milling and boring operations of high
class accuracy and surface finish. This requires holding of
different size and variety of cutting tools on horizontal boring
machine.
Generally tools ISO-60 and large size cutters are mounted on
universal milling head of horizontal boring machine for carrying
out different operations on components like generator stator body,
generator end shield, generator rotors and large size motor frames
these compounds also include operation to be done with tools of
small size (less than ISO-50). For carrying out such operations
where small size tools are required, jobs are shifted to other
machines. These practices in the shop floors are experienced
followings disadvantages: -
1. It consumes long time in handling and resetting of job by
shifting to other machine.
2. For carrying out small toolings operation in same setting on
Skoda Horizontal Boring machine a new sut up of Universal
Mill Head is to installed which requires to be imported
incurring an expenditure in Foreign Exchange.
3. Production Cycle per unit is lengthened.
4. Higher cost of manufacturing per unit.
5. Deterioration in quality of product.
6. Normally available small toolings in stores could not be
utilized.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore, an object of the present invention to propose a tool
attachment device for small diameter tool of different verities and
sizes adaptable to horizontal boring machine which eliminates the
disadvantages of existing state of art in the shop floor.
Another object of the present invention is to propose a tool
attachment device for small diameter tool of different verities and
sizes adaptable to horizontal boring machine which fully utilizes
unutilized small tools laying is stores.
A further object of the present invention is to propose a tool
attachment device for small diameter tool of different verities and
sizes adaptable to horizontal boring machine which reduces cycle
time and cost of production.
A still further object is to propose a tool attachment device for
small diameter tool of different verities and sizes adaptable to
horizontal boring machine which improves quality of production.
An yet further object is to propose a tool attachment device for
small diameter tool of different verities and sizes adaptable to
horizontal boring machine which increase safety of persons and
equipments.

DETAILS DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBIMENT OF
THE INVENTION
As shown in Fig - 2 and 3 the tool attachment device (1) comprises
a plurality of step down cylindrical body having a hexagonal
member (2) at top. The step down cylindrical body comprises a
large diameter-adjusting collar (3) at top and a small diameter
threaded part (4) at the bottom and a central part (5) having a
mean diameter of the two. The threaded part holds the tool with
the help of adapter and hexagonal side is used to give rotation for
tightening the device into small tooling. The device is made of steel
material.
WE CLAIM
1. A tool attachment device for small diameter tool of different
varieties and sizes adaptable to horizontal boring machine
comprises: -
a step down cylindrical body (1) having a hexagonal
member (2) at the top;
the step down cylindrical body comprises one larger
diameter-adjusting collar (3) at top and a smaller
diameter threaded part (4) at the bottom and a central
part (5) having a mean diameter of the two and
characterized the threaded part holds the tool with the
help of adopter and hexagonal side is used to give
rotation for tightening the device into small tooling.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device is made
of steel material.
