Abstract: The present disclosure provides a transparent soap bar comprising at least one fatty acid, at least one surfactant, and sodium cocoyl isethionate, at particular weight concentrations, which has superior cleansing and sensorial properties.
Claims:1. A transparent soap bar comprising:
a. at least one fatty acid having weight concentration in the range of 18-28% of said soap bar;
b. sodium cocoyl isethionate having weight concentration in the range of 3.4 - 7% of said soap bar; and
c. at least one surfactant having weight concentration in the range of 16-30% of said soap bar.
2. The transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one fatty acid comprises:
a. hystric acid having weight concentration in the range of 85-90% of the at least one fatty acid in said soap bar; and
b. lauric acid having weight concentration in the range of 10-15% of the at least one fatty acid of said soap bar.
3. The transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one surfactant is a combination of at least one non-ionic surfactant having weight concentration in the range of 3-6% of said soap bar, at least one anionic surfactant having weight concentration in the range of 11.5-23% of said soap bar, and at least one amphoteric surfactant having weight concentration in the range of 3-6% of said soap bar.
4. The transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 3, wherein said at least one non-ionic surfactant is decyl glucoside, said at least one anionic surfactant is sodium laureth sulfate, and said at least one amphoteric surfactant is a combination of cocamidopropyl betaine and sodium lauro amphoacetate.
5. The transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 4, wherein said cocamidopropyl betaine weight concentration in said soap bar is in the range of 1.3-3%, and said sodium lauro amphoacetate weight concentration in said soap bar is in the range of 1.3-3%.
6. The transparent soap bar as claimed in any of the claims 1-5, further comprising:
a. glycerin having weight concentration in the range of 1-4% of said soap bar;
b. propylene glycol having weight concentration in the range of 21-23% of said soap bar;
c. NaCl having weight concentration in the range of 0.5-1% of said soap bar;
d. water to make up to 100%; and
e. NaOH in quantity sufficient.
7. The transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 6 comprising:
a. hystric acid having weight concentration in the range of 16-24%;
b. lauric acid having weight concentration in the range of 2-3.6%;
c. glycerin having weight concentration in the range of 1-4%;
d. propylene glycol having weight concentration of 21-23%;
e. NaCl having weight concentration in the range of 0.5-1%;
f. decyl glucoside having weight concentration in the range of 2.4-3.5%;
g. cocamidopropyl betaine having weight concentration in the range of 1.3-2%;
h. sodium lauroamphoacetate having weight concentration in the range of 1.3-2%;
i. sodium laureth sulfate having weight concentration in the range of 11.5-16.5%;
j. sodium cocoyl isethionate having weight concentration in the range of 3.5-5%;
k. NaOH in quantity sufficient; and
l. water to QS to 100%.
8. A process of preparing a transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 6, said process comprising:
a. melting said at least one fatty acid optionally with glycerin, and propylene glycol under continuous stirring in a first vessel to obtain a molten mix;
b. neutralizing the molten mix by adding sodium hydroxide under stirring conditions to obtain a neutralized mixture;
c. adding at least one surfactant, and water to obtain a soap mixture; and
d. pouring said mixture into moulds to allow solidification at a temperature in the range of 22-32°C.
9. The process as claimed in claim 8 further comprising addition of NaCl, preferably before step (d) of claim 8.
10. A process of preparing a transparent soap bar as claimed in claim 7, said process comprising:
a. melting hystric acid, lauric acid, glycerin, and propylene glycol at a temperature in the range of 65-90°C under continuous stirring in a first vessel to obtain a molten mix;
b. neutralizing the molten mix by adding sodium hydroxide under stirring for 5-30 minutes to obtain a neutralized mixture;
c. adding sodium chloride to the neutralized mixture and mixing under stirring to obtain a first mix;
d. adding sodium lauryl ether sulfate, decyl glucoside, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium lauro amphoacetate, and sodium cocoyl isethionate in a serial manner and mixing for 5-30 minutes after addition of each ingredient to obtain a second mix;
e. adding water and mixing to obtain a third mixture; and
f. pouring the third mixture into moulds to allow solidification at room temperature in the range of 25-30°C.
