Detailed description of the invention
Although various embodiments of the present invention are possible but for the purpose of illustration and without any limitation the present invention is described with specific reference to a television set.
The term user personalized information management system wherever used in the description is interchangeable with television.
Figures 1 depicts a conventional system for creating user profiles according to the prior art as illustrated in the background section.
Figure 2 is a block diagram according to the present invention. This figures shows a user personalized information management system (200) as per the present invention. The management system comprises a set up module (201) for properly locating the home page on a display (208) of said system. The personalized infomiation of the user is well protected by an authentication module (202) in the management system. More than one user can protect their personalized information in the management system by entering their respective pin code in the authentication module. The user's personalized information is stored in a storage device (203) or a hard disk. The user is
able to store his/her information until the storage device is full. The management system also comprises an inset module (204) for adding data in the storage device (203). The management system also comprises a delete module (205) to delete the entered data from the storage device whenever desired by the user. The data can permanently delete from the hard disk by taking user permission. A display module (206) displays the data stored in the hard disk of said management system. The user has further options to add new data, edit the existing data, delete the data and view the data in the display module. The user has choice to change the authentication information or pin code of the authentication module (202) by an alternation module (207). In the alternation module the user enter his/her new pin code to protect their personalized information. The new pin code is saved in the storage device of the management system to access their information in future.
Figure 3 represents a setup module as per the present invention. The set up module (201) comprises a main menu block (301) of the television. This further comprises a locator block (302) for properly locating the home page on the display (208) of the television. After placing the home page at proper place the user can enter his/her application.
Figure 4 represents an authentication module as per the present invention. The user protects his/her personalized information by entering password. When the user enter his/her password, a first verifying sub module (401) compares the entered password with the default password stored in the memory. If the password is valid, it allows the user to enter or modify the
data in the management system. Incase the password is not matching the verifying sub-module inform to the user about invalid of the password.
Figure 5 represents an insert module as per the present invention. Before entering the data in the storage device (203), a second verifying sub-module (501) of the insert module checks whether space is available in the storage device to enter more data. Incase space is available, name of the field is entered by a first add up sub-module (502). Then a second add up sub-module (503) enter data or user personalized information in the respective field entered by the user. For Example, the different filed name entered by the user may be his Passport No., A/C No., House key No. etc.. The user can enter the respective data in the corresponding field. The user can enter more than one data in a single field. For example, the user can store A/C No. of two different banks in the management system.
Figure 6 represents a delete module as per the present invention. When the user desires to delete his/her personalized information from the storage device, a confirmation module (601) of the delete module (205) confirm from the user whether he/she wants to permanently delete the information. As per the user choice the updated information is stored in the storage device.
Figure 7 represents a display module as per the present invention. The display module (206) comprises an open up block (701) for opening the data list stored in the storage device. A select block (702) of said display module selects a particular data list or filed as desired by the user. When the user activates the selected data in the data list by an activation block (703), the
display module displays the sub-modules which comprises an editing module (704), an erase module (705) and a view module (706). The editing module (704) opens the list of stored information respective to highlighted or selected item. The data in this module are both in read end edit mode so that the user can read the data as well as update the data if he fells necessary at any time. The updated data are stored in the storage device. The erase module (705) confirms from the user before deleting the selected data. If the user selects to delete the data, then the new existing data is stored in the storage device (203). The view module (706) opens list of stored information respective to highlighted or selected item. The data in this module are in read mode only. The user has no option to edit the data in the view module.
Figure 8 illustrates a flow chart for operating the set up module. The user activates the set up module by activating a main block of said module in step 801. In step 802 the user activates a locator block of said module for properly locating the home page on the display of the television. Then the user can enter his/her personalized information or enter in the application mode in step 803.
Figure 9 illustrates a flow chart for operating the authentication module. When the user enters in the application mode an authentication module asks for entering a password in step 901. The first verifying sub-module compares the entered password with the default password stored in the memory in step 902. If the password is valid the home page will display in step 903. Then in step 904 the user has options to enter new data, view or delete or edit the existed data as per his/her requirements.
Figure 10 illustrates a flow chart for operating the insertion module. If the user desires to insert new data he/she enters his/her personalized information in step 1001. At that instant the insert module checks whether space is available in the storage device to enter new data in step 1002 by a second verifying sub-module. If the hard disk is not full the user enters the name of the data field in step 1004 by a first add up sub-module, else the user go to the home page to update the existing data in step 1003. After entering the data field name the user enters his/her personalized information by a second add up sub-module in step 1005. The new data is stored in the storage device in step 1006. Then the user has options to go the home page for carrying out other activities in step 1007.
Figure 11 illustrates a flow chart for operating the delete module. When the user desires to delete his/her personalized information from the storage device in step 1101. a confirmation module of the delete module confirm from the user whether he/she wants to permanently delete the information in step 1102. If the user chooses to delete the data field, the updated information is stored in the storage device in step 1103, else the view list is displayed in step 1104. Then the user has options to go the home page for carrying out other activities in step 1105.
Figure 12 illustrates a flow chart for operating the display module. When the user selects to view the data list in the home page in step 1201, a open up block opened the data list stored in the storage device in step 1202. Then a select block (702) of said display module selects a particular data list or filed as desired by the user in step 1203. When the user activates the selected data
in the data list by an activation block in step 1204, the display module displays the sub-modules in step 1205, which comprises an editing module, an erase module and a view module.
The editing module opens the list of stored information respective to highlighted or selected item in step 1.1. The data in this module are both in read end edit mode so that the user can read the data as well as update the data if he fells necessary at any time. The updated data are stored in the storage device in step 1.2. Then the user can switch over to perform other activities in the home page in step 1.3.
The erase module confirms from the user before deleting the selected data in step 21. If the user selects to delete the data, then the new existing data is stored in the storage device in step 2.2, else the view list is displayed in step 2.3. The user can perform other activities at the home page as he/she desired in step 2.4.
The view module opens list of stored information respective to highlighted or selected item in step 3.1.
Figure 13 illustrates a flow chart for operating the alteration module. When the user desires to change his/her password to protect their personalized information, he/she activates an alteration module in step 1301. The user enter new password in step 1302. The updated password is stored in the storage device in step 1303. Then the user has option to go to home page for performing other activities in step 1304.
