An Automobile Tire Deterioration Prediction System

Abstract: An automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10 is described. The automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10 comprises an automobile tire 12, and a mudguard 14 of a vehicle positioned above the automobile tire 12. An electromagnetic transmitter 16 is positioned on the mudguard 14 of the vehicle, the electromagnetic transmitter 16 adapted to transmit an electromagnetic signal to the automobile tire 12. An electronic receiver coil 18 is positioned on the mudguard 14 of the vehicle, the electronic receiver coil 18 adapted to receive an electromagnetic signal from at least one steel bead or a foreign metal part that is positioned within the automobile tire 12, thereby indicating a presence of a premature crack on the automobile tire 12.

Specification

Claims:We Claim

1. An automobile tire deterioration prediction system (10), said automobile tire deterioration prediction system (10) comprising:
an automobile tire (12);
a mudguard (14) of a vehicle positioned above said automobile tire (12);
an electromagnetic transmitter (16) positioned on said mudguard (14) of said vehicle, said electromagnetic transmitter (16) adapted to transmit an electromagnetic signal to said automobile tire (12); and
an electronic receiver coil (18) positioned on said mudguard (14) of said vehicle, said electronic receiver coil (18) adapted to receive an electromagnetic signal from at least one steel bead or a foreign metal part that is positioned within said automobile tire (12), thereby indicating a presence of a premature crack on said automobile tire (12).

, Description:Complete Specification:

The following specification describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of the invention
[0001] This invention relates to an automobile tire deterioration prediction system, and more specifically to a transmitter / receiver assembly that is used to predict a level of wear in an automobile tire.

Background of the invention
[0002] KR 20140085199 A describes a wireless power transmission method using a magnetic field, a battery of a pressure sensor is charged by transmitting energy to the pressure sensor used in a tire pressure monitoring system of a vehicle. The tire pressure monitoring system of the vehicle using wireless power transmission according to the present invention includes four pressure sensors mounted on each of the tires of the vehicle A wireless power transceiver and an information receiving device is mounted in the vehicle, wirelessly transmitting power to the pressure sensor, and receiving information from the pressure sensor using the magnetic field, and a display unit displaying the information.

Brief description of the accompanying drawing
[0003] Figure 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of an automobile tire deterioration prediction system in one embodiment of the invention.

Detailed description of the embodiments
[0004] Figure 1 illustrates an automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10.

[0005] The automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10 comprises an automobile tire 12 that is secured to a wheel hub of a vehicle. A mudguard 14 of the vehicle is positioned above the automobile tire 12 and provides a splash guard arrangement for the automobile tire 12. An electromagnetic transmitter 16 of the automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10 is positioned on the mudguard 14 of the vehicle. The electromagnetic transmitter 16 of the automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10 is adapted to transmit an electromagnetic flux to the automobile tire 12 of the vehicle. Therefore, a magnetic field is established between the electronic transmitter 16 of the automobile tire deterioration prediction system 10 and the automobile tire 12.

[0006] If the automobile tire 12 is completely covered with rubber, and if none of the nylon threads / steel beads that are within the rubber material of the automobile tire 12 are left exposed, then the electronic receiver coil 18 that is on the mudguard 14 of the vehicle does not receive any signal from the unexposed metal beads of the automobile tire 12. If the automobile tire 12 has eroded over a period of time, thereby uncovering the nylon threads / steel beads that are within the rubber material of the automobile tire 12, the electronic receiver coil 18 is adapted to receive an electromagnetic signal from at least one steel bead or metal foreign part attached to the automobile tire 12, thereby indicating a presence of a premature crack that has developed on the automobile tire 12. A user may be notified accordingly to replace the automobile tire 12 when the at least one steel bead or metal foreign part that is attached to the automobile tire 12 is exposed.

[0007] It must be understood that the embodiments explained above are only illustrative and do not limit the scope of the disclosure. Many modifications in the embodiments with regard to dimensions of various components are envisaged and form a part of this invention. The scope of the invention is only limited by the scope of the claims.
