Specification

Field of Invention:
The present invention relates to improved hair oil and Process for
preparing the same.
Prior Art:
In the art various oils are known which can be used for hair. However,
these oils are not able to provide desired perfume and are not able to provide
smooth silky hair easy to comb due to knot free hair. Furthermore known
oils do not provide anti-dandruff properties and are not smooth in nature.
It is further observed that these known oils available in the market
do not have nourishing properties and are not suitable for nourishing the
scalp.
It has therefore been long felt need to develop such hair oil which
removed the disadvantages mentioned above and is cheaper to make and
thereby can be afforded by common persons/consumers.
Brief Description of the Invention:
It has been surprisingly found that mixture of amla seed oil. jojoba oil
and almond oil, olive oil and coconut oil when added to base oil in a proper
proportion alongwith herbal extract selected from bringaraj, brahmi, japa puspa
which are processed in vegetable oil provide extraordinary antidandruff
property and very smooth oil which can be used by different customers.

Detailed Description of the Invention:
According the present invention there is provided an improved hair oil
comprising:-
(a) paraffin oil from 76 to 80% by weight,
(b) vegetable oil from 14 - 22% by weight;
(c) antioxidants from 0.05 to 0.5% by weight;
(d) UV stabilizer from 0.05 to 0.5% by weight;
(e) drug & cosmetic approved colours from 0.001 to 0.020 by weight;
(f) a mixture of herbal extract consisiting of bringaraj, brahmi, japa
puspa processed in a portion of refined vegetable oil;
(g) mixture of active oils consisting of coconut oil 0.4-2 % by weight,
almond oil 0.05-2% by weight, amla seed oil 0.05-2% by weight, olive oil
0.05-2% by weight, jojoba oil 1-4% by weight oils.
The said vegetable oil consisting of 14 to 22% by weight comprising of
one or more of sunflower oil, rice bran oil, sesame oil, grape seed oil, wheat
germ oil
The said UV stabilizer is selected from benzophenone-3.
According to present invention there is also provided process for
preparing improved hair oil which comprises following steps:
(i) preparing a blend of paraffin oil and refined vegetable oils as per ratio
given below:
(a) Paraffin oil from 76 to 80% by weight;
(b) Vegetable oils from 14 to 22% by weight;

(ii) adding to step (i), the required formula quantities of antioxidants & UV
stabilizers;
(iii) adding to step (i), the required formula quantities of drug & cosmetics
approved colour;
(iv) the formula quantities of herbs consisting of bringaraj, brahmi japa puspa
are immersed into a portion of refined vegetable oil left as such overnight,
filtered through a 100 mesh filter;
(v) the formula quantities of active oils are weighed together and mixed with the
oil based herbal extract;
(v) the total quantity of step iv) & v) are added to the blended oil of step i);
(vi) addition of formula quantities of perfume to the blended oil of step i) and
stirring the product until homogenous;
(vii) filtering the product finally through a sparkler filter press
With reference to the invention of the product the following is the process
of manufacture in short comprising of the following steps:
(ii) preparing a blend of paraffin oil and refined vegetab e oils as per ratio
given below:
(a) Paraffin oil from 76 to 80% by weight;
(b) Vegetable oils from 14 to 22% by weight;

filtered through a 100 mesh filter;

(v) the formula quantities of active oils are weighed together and mixed with the
oil based herbal extract;
(v) the total quantity of step iv) & v) are added to the blended oil of step i);
(vi) addition of formula quantities of perfume to the blended oil of step i) and
stirring the product until homogenous;
(vii) filtering the product finally through a sparkler filter press;

We now give below of know applications of various ngredients present
in the product.

The present invention is illustrated with accompanying example which is
given by way of example but does not restrict the scope of the present
invention.
Example 1:
Stage: 1 (Preparation of herbal Mixture - Oil base)
The formula quantities of herbs of are cleaned well and cut into small
pieces, weighed together and are soaked well into a portion of hot refined
vegetable oil. The total material is left as such in a loosely covered SS vessel for
about 10 hours, preferably overnight. Filtered by straining through a nylon cloth
of 100 mesh, the residual herbs are squeezed so as to recover the soaked oil. The
recovered oil is added to the filtrate. The total material is weighed and recorded.
The loss of volume in process is made up adding the required amount of
refined oil. This oil herbal mixture is stored properly in SS vessels.

The formula quantities of active oils consisting of coconut oil 0.4 - 2%,
almond oil 0.05 - 2%, amla seed Oil 0.05 - 2%, olive oil 0.05 - 2%, jojoba oil 1
- 4% are weighed together and mixed with the oil based herbal extract
Stage: 2
The formula quantities of the base oils consisting of refined vegetable oils
and mineral oil are weighed and transferred into an SS batch mixing vessel,
provided with a suitable high speed Remi type stirrer. Start stirring. The formula
quantities of antioxidant & UV stabilizers are dissolved into a portion of the
above base oil heated upto 65° - 70° C. Once completely dissolved the mixture
is added to the batch mixer.
The formula quantities of drug & cosmetic approved colours are weighed
accurately and dissolved into a portion of the mixed oil drawn from the batch
mixing vessel, heated to 65° - 70° C. Add the colour solution into the batch
mixing vessel after straining the same through a fine nylon cloth. In case if any
residue of un dispersed colour particles are observed the same operation of
dispersing in hot oil is to be repeated, until the total quantity of colours are
completely dispersed in the bulk.
Add the formula quantities of perfume and mix well until homogenous.
The total material is passed through a suitable filter press, preferably a
sparkler filter press.

The filtered Emami Hairlife 5 Oils in One, is to be stored in well closed
SS storage tanks.
