An Led Display System Adapted For Motion Multiplexing For Realizing Full Display Screen

Abstract: The present invention relates to true color LED display screen based LED display system adapted to provide motion multiplexing by activation of selective clusters of LED pixels on screen in an energy efficient manner. The LED display system providing circular or lateral motion to the circular and/or rectangular screen so as to result in complete viewing of the screen to human eye based on the principle of persistence of vision, activating only limited number of segments of the screen in synchronization with screen movement. The screen speed is selected based on persistence of vision of a human eye. Importantly, selective activation of LED segments, synchronized with respect to time and physical location on screen, favor full screen realization for desired display of content. Thus the number of display modules to be integrated - which includes LEDs, housings, power supplies and the interconnecting cables between modules-are saved. The invention thus favours savings as high as 75%-80% without degradation in the image quality or content or comfort for the viewers.

Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to true color LED display screen adapted to provide motion multiplexing by activation of selective clusters of LED pixels on at least one screen in small numbers at a time and providing simultaneously rotational and/or lateral motion to the circular and/or rectangular screen so as to result in optical experience of complete viewing of the total circular and/or rectangular screen to human eye based on the principle of persistence of vision while displaying desired contents with intended impact to the viewers. More particularly, the invention relates to a LED display screen, circular and/or rectangular in shape and of desired size, having only limited number of segments of the screen assembled in the radial and/or vertical orientation and subjecting the illuminated segment/s on motion in a circular and/or lateral direction producing an effect to human eye of complete viewing of the desired display on screen. The speed of movement of such a small segment of the display screen, with a speed matching with the persistence of vision of a human eye, is adapted to produce a full screen display of the desired image or content. Importantly, selective activation of LEDs through a predefined scheme of multiplexing, wherein the content is synchronized with respect to time and the physical location of the energized segment in relation to the full size display screen, so that human eyes experience the comfort of viewing an image in its entirety following the principles of optical illusion and/or persistence of vision. The principle is equally applicable for circular or lateral movements of the selected segment of the circular or rectangular display screen. Such selective energization of LEDs advantageously greatly reduces the resource requirements in terms of the number of display modules to be integrated - which includes LEDs, housings, power supplies and the interconnecting cables between modules. The circular or lateral movement of the display segments consistent with the persistence of vision of a human eye is achieved by means of mechanical drive means. A software helps driving the selective LEDs on screen in sync with the position they occupy on the screen at different points of time. The invention thus favours savings as high as 75%-80% without degradation in the image quality or content or comfort for the viewers. The LED display screen with motion multiplexing provision as of the present invention thus optimizes the resources and costs with enhanced scope of utilization of LED display screens for a larger spectrum of fixed or mobile applications without sacrificing desired viewing experience and comfort and thus favouring wide application in diverse fields including advertising display or TV screens for indoor application. BACKGROUND ART It is well known in the related field of advertising and publicity media, LED Display screens are having wide acceptance as effective media for several applications including Advertisements; Video coverage of Functions, Events & Entertainment; Information Display at important places lil
