An Oil Pump With Eliptor Rotors
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure discloses an oil pump assembly. The oil pump assembly comprises a housing, an outer rotor rotatably disposed in the housing. The outer rotor comprises inwardly projecting teeth having elliptical shape. The oil pump assembly further comprises an inner rotor rotatably disposed in the housing, the inner rotor comprises outwardly projecting teeth having elliptical shape. The inner rotor is located eccentric to a center of the housing and number of the inwardly projecting teeth is more than number of the outwardly projecting teeth. The elliptical profile of the teeth of the inner rotor and the outer rotor increases pocket volume of the oil pump and thus improves efficiency of the oil pump assembly.
