Authentication Apparatus, Authentication Method, And Recording Medium

Abstract: An authentication apparatus (2) is provided with: an iris authentication unit (217) for authenticating an authentication target person (TP) on the basis of iris feature information relating to an iris feature of the authentication target person in a captured image (100) obtained by imaging the authentication target person; and an image determination unit (214) for determining, on the basis of facial feature information relating to facial features of the authentication target person in the captured image, whether or not the captured image satisfies a predetermined condition that should be satisfied for an image to be used for authenticating the authentication target person by using the iris feature information. Operation of the iris authentication unit when the captured image is determined to satisfy the predetermined condition and operation of the iris authentication unit when the captured image is determined not to satisfy the predetermined condition are different from each other.
