Abstract: An authentication system (1) is provided with: a first imaging device (3) for acquiring a first image (300) to be used for authentication, by imaging a first imaging zone; a second imaging device (3) for acquiring a second image (200) by imaging a second imaging zone wider than the first imaging zone; and a control device (6) for selecting a subject (Ta) to be authenticated, on the basis of a target area (TA), within the second image, that includes a prescribed part (TP) of a person (T), and on the basis of a reference area (RA), within the second image, that corresponds to the first imaging zone.
