Bend Correction In Casting Elements
Abstract: A bend correction apparatus (100) and a method for correcting bending errors in a muffler anchorage casting (300) are described. The bend correction apparatus (100) comprises a box (102) with a plurality of spring-loaded wedges (200). The bend correction apparatus (100) also comprises a plurality of loose inserts (302) to be placed inside the box (102) to create a cavity (304) conforming to shape and dimensions of the muffler anchorage casting (300). The bend correction apparatus (100) also comprises a top plate (106) having a plurality of spring-loaded inserts (108) coupled thereto, such that the plurality of spring-loaded inserts (108) abuts, and applies pressure on, the muffler anchorage casting (300) placed in the cavity (304) for correcting the bending errors.
